Observations of Anton Nerezza (Clan Tremere):
I returned from my week-long trip abroad expecting to find that not much had changed in the city since my departure. However, the night turned out to be full of surprises. For one, the Prince decided not to hold court; this was unusual, but a meeting by the primogens was scheduled for later that evening. In addition, a Brujah archon made a discrete appearance in the city, presumably to settle the ongoing dispute over status that had been going on for some time now. We cannot afford such distractions with the Sabbat plotting just across the river, and I sincerely hope that the matter was concluded.
The primogen meeting was delayed when many of the city's Kindred became involved in the capture of Justin Connery. I was observing a chess match involving Mr. Johnson (who is a formidable opponent, as it turns out) and was thus not involved in the mission, but the individual who showed up was apparently ambushed and captured successfully without a breach of the masquerade. Given the cunning displayed by the elusive Mr. Connery so far, though, I doubt that he would have allowed himself to be caught in such a fashion. Nevertheless, we may be able to glean some important information from the prisoner... Other unexpected happenings included the arrival of a severed Kindred head that was sent to the hospital and then delivered to Mr. Sharp, care of Dr. Netchurch. The head carried a threatening message from the Arsonists, a group that Sharp has fought on a number of occasions. More importantly, the head belonged to the Sabbat prisoner that was released back into Detroit. The return of his remains to us is a message to the entire city, not just Mr. Sharp. When court was finally held by the primogens, it was brief. Status was awarded to Darien St. Cloud and Byron McDougal, Darien was also promoted to the position of assistant harpy. Primogen Crumb granted me respected status as a result of circumstances that are a private matter; perhaps there will be more to say at a later date. With the conclusion of the meeting, events at the Elysium winded down, and I departed to my bookstore for the remainder of the evening.
