Synopsis: Session 5 - "The Sword and the Dagger"

Back to Session 5 Summeries

Observations of Jacob Palmer (Clan Brujah, Primogen):

(Conversation over heard in the Elysium)

"... No, I'm Serious, he called a fricking Archon! I swear, I am not shitting you. Ok, let's start back at the beginning..."

So I got to the Nightingale around the normal time, to find that, much to my dissapointment, the keeper would not be joining us that evening. Then we heard that the Prince had decided not to hold court that evening, due to the amount fo time he was forced to be present last gathering to orchestrate the response teams. Well, Primogen Luca had some status stuff he wanted to make public, and the lovely Isabella wished to make a few announcements, we figured we'd better call everybody into the conference room and take care of that. I had to make an annoucement of my own, so it seemed like a good idea. Well, a bunch of people were busy at the time, so we sort of put that off a bit. Everybody kept saying we were going to "hold court" or some such. Whatever, you can't hold court without a Prince there to do the holding part, we were just yanking people in so we could spoon-feed them some status info and send them back out to play with their friends.

Anyway, this seemed like the perfect oportunity to gather up my clan and go air out all the little problems that crop up between clanmates between city gatherings. So we all sort of migrated back to a secluded area (riiiight, secluded, uh huh. like anywhere in the Elysium is secluded. Supposedly we're not supposed to be using powers in the Nightingale, but it seems that rule doesn't apply to the those who wish to snoop on other people's clan meetings... who knew?). We got some stuff sorted out, apparently I'm supposed to be communicating more. I should mention that to the other Primogen. "It's your duty to explain your every action to each member of your clan, and they don't have to come to you and tell you anything. If you don't they will plot behind your back and try to have you ousted from the Primogen council".

So we got all that shit out in the open, did some VERY theraputic sulking, and THEN my estemed clan mate and Sheriff Mr. Morrison got a rather obscure phone call from a deputy (information people, please. Don't be so obscure.) which was followed by the rather daunting mental voice of the Tremere Regent informing me that AN ARCHON was here and wanted to speak with the Brujah. All of us. Especially me. I flipped a bit, so sue me.

Well, turns out that it was a Mr. Theo Bell. Nice guy. Apparently one of my clan mates, Mr. Sharp, felt that rather than coming to me with these little problems he was having regarding my communication skills, he was gonna bitch to the Archon in several of a series of "reports" which he regularly makes... (?) I don't know what to make of this. What is he? If the Archon is the servant of a Justicar... What's he? The servant of an Archon would be..? I think I will privatley come up with a title for Mr. Sharp. It seems to me that the title "Archon" come from mixing up the last 3 letters of "Justicar" and adding "on" to the end of it, so from now on, I will think of Mr. Sharp as an "Onhon", which mixes the last 3 letters of "Archon" and adds the respectfull Suffix of "on".

never mind, I think there was something funny about about that hippy I ate earlier...

So anyway, Mr. Bell called in all the people involved in the whole Sabbat attack debacle, hence forth refered to as "The Great Tyche Rescue"... or maybe "Fanny Attack"... After weighing the evidence quite carefully, Mr. Bell seemed to agree that I was in the right, gave me a token warning against betraying my clan or something (like I'd ever ponder something like that) and then headed back to the airport. Get this, Sharp's big bitch with me was that I COULDN'T REMEMBER HIS NAME. Yes, that was his number 1 concern. Please! We had this influx of new people, and his name is a commonly used adjective. I always remembered his first name, but, truth be told, I kept thinking of his as Casio for the first couple weeks. I haven't screwed it up in over a month, I don't get it... he obviously just wanted me to get it wrong so he could whine.

Whatever, I don't want anymore argueing, I'm over it.

Really.

Apparently someone captured that Connery fellow. Good show, who ever you are, I salute you! I'm sure your patriotic actions will not be forgotten.

Ok, well, that's about it. I can't remember much else, I was too busy hearing all about how I ought to keep this strife up and punish him for going over my head on the Archon Issue. Well, I shant be doing any punishing. I shall leave our illustrius Onhon to himself and hope things just smooth themselves out. Hopefully I won't have to worry about this again.

Well, I'm off mingle, take care. Talk to you soon I'm sure.

Observations of Earl Morrison (Clan Brujah, Sheriff):

Best laid plans and tangled webs:

Where to begin on this eventful night? From the beginning, always start from the beginning. The night started with an announcement that the Prince will not be holding Court, but the Primogen seem to have decided to hold one themselves. I missed that one, but heard some status was handed out.

I was busy at a Brujah clan meeting. The great Archon Bell came into town, though no one seems to know *who* contacted him. I guess it's his job to know when there might be problems. Bottom line, the clan problem was inconvenient at best, and everyone should just drop it. At least that's the information I got. Sadly, I had to duck out early to take care of some official business regarding the safety of the city. As it stands, I believe everything has been reconciled and we Brujah are as united as ever.

Now, I'm sure many are wondering exactly what happened at the Justin take-down, and I'm sure there are just as many good rumors as bad. Unfortunately I am not currently in a position to delve into details, and I would prefer other that were there to also keep it hushed. Just be warned this issue isn't completely dead yet.

However, I will say this much. It was a very well organized assault. It was also very clean. No breaches, no problems, no evidence left behind. It was truly an example of how things should be done, in my opinion. I believe those that were there have agreed with me on this.

The day overall was a very stressing one. As everyone knows, nothing ever goes as planned, this was no exception. Though nothing serious came of it, it was quite distracting. When I got back to Elysium, somebody was trying to hand me a skull, which certainly didn't help. Yes sir, a skull. Now why the hell I would want that? I don't know. Simply put, Sabbat scare tactics. What is scares me more is whether they sent it where they did hoping for a breach... Skulls sent via UPS arriving at random buildings with our names on them isn't a good thing.

At any rate, I spent the rest of the night deep in thought. Again, I apologize to those who attempted conversation, if I wasn't short with you, I likely just ignored you completely. As well, I don't remember much of anything said. No worry though, my mind is clear and calm now.

Observations of Raphael Emersen (Clan Brujah):

Yet another mostly uneventful Elysium, at least as far as I was concerned. Things happened, as they always seem to, but nothing that involved me personally. I think it's time I started bringing my laptop to Elysium...

It was announced early on that there would be no court held by the Prince this night. Apparently he felt that the fireworks across the river deserved some attention. A possible cover for a Sabbat attack, but I don't think they'd be that obvious. The Primogens decided to hold a court of their own later. In the meantime the Brujah held another rant.

It was decided at the rant to get all "issues" out into the open and dealt with. Apparently more things have been happening than I thought. Some of the others fear that the Nos and some of the other clans are already working to undermine our ranking in the city, thus the need to take care of within-clan problems immediately. I personally had no grudges to put on the table, but Mr. Sharp certainly did. The issue of his role in the defense of Primogen Tyche had not yet been resolved and at least two other high-status kindred were involved in the argument. The dispute had been taken to the harpies two weeks before but had not yet come to a decision.

During this discussion, the Brujah Archon arrived quite unexpectedly. Mr. Sharp told us that he made reports to Mr. Bell every other week. It seems Mr. Bell believed that Sharp wanted him to take a personal hand in the matter. The Archon talked with those present, including myself. I doubt one of my status could make much of a dent, but I was one of the only ones present and conscious during the entire battle. Mr. Bell then talked privately with Mr. Sharp, Primogen Tyche, Primogen Gates, and Adonis. I later heard that Mr. Gates was angry about the incident, and that he wanted a personal apology from Mr. Sharp. Things are definitely heating up around here.

I spent the rest of the night chatting with my coterie in the court room. There was an incident later involving a severed head and a death threat to Mr. Sharp from his old friends the Arsonists, but not much else. I became so bored I actually played a game of chess against Ol' Eddy. Surprisingly I won, but Eddy had been distracted. "Court" was held soon after and some status was granted. My friend Anton apparently has been very busy and has gained the respect of his clan. Nothing else of note happened this night.

I definitely need to bring my laptop next time.
