Darkness Reigns LARP: Session 4 Synopsis "Assumption of Risk"

Synopsis: Session 4 - "Assumption of Risk"

Back to Session 4 Summeries

Observations of Jean-Luc Eclair (Clan Nosferatu, Deputy):

Well, I must admit, coming back from my little trip proved to be mainly aggravating. As I arrived back in familiar sewers, the primogen quickly located me. There had been an incident. With Billy. Now, I love Billy to death, but he knows the rules, and one of them is that he's a house-croc. He ain't never allowed outside, 'cause when you're 30 feet long and that ugly, people notice. He then informed me that Pietr had let Billy out. As one might imagine, I felt very, very cross with Pietr. I don't like it when the traditions get violated, although I suppose combat is a circumstance where violations will be made. I doubt there was anything in the mall that warranted Billy's presence though. That Pietr violated the masquerade with my own beloved pet only added insult to injury.

Court wasn't anything too unexpected. The new deputies seem nice. The gangrel and malk seem to be a bit too excited when it comes to making dangerous chemicals, but we all need a hobby. The new Brujah seemed nice, although very quiet. It's strange to say, but I almost look forward to the next incursion by the Sabbat. Hopefully, we'll be able to take down a couple guys they'll miss next time. I'd like nothing more than to see the taint of the Sabbat cleansed, although I suppose we could always enslave them instead and use them as housekeeping or something.

There were meetings with the brood and the sheriff and deputies, equipment was issued, and everything was going relatively smoothly. Well, except for the incident with the merde and the elevator. No offense to Mr. Sweeny who's been gracious enough to let us meet in his casino, but I prefer to spend my time away from all the lights and people, so I found being trapped away from my home a bit disturbing. I felt bad for the Malk Deputy who took a look down there. I can't smell worth crap, so stuff like that never bothers me, but that poor guy... whoooooooeeeeee... he has my pity.

I noticed Ol' Eddy worked out my homocidal... wait, does that work? We're all already sort of dead, so would it be necrocide? Aw, who gives a crap... my desire to remove Pietr from this coil of existance. God knows how, I guess Malks have spooky mind reading powers, like you see on TV. I'll have to ask him if he works for one of those networks... they probably pay good money. I'll have to control my thoughts around Malks and the only other group I've noticed with spooky powers so far, the Tremere. I wonder where everyone gets their spooky powers from... do they have books? Just think less and I'll be fine, though this is prolly the first time I'd had something worth hidin' (when you spend most of your time worrying about making sure other people follow the rules, you don't have nearly enough time to break them yourself).

Oh, yeah, about Pietr. Now that I've had time to cool off, I no longer have quite the same homocidal (necrocidal, whatever... smarter people can mince words) feelings towards him. Don't get me wrong. I'm still kinda wantin' to beat him within an inch of his life. Just not any further than that. I know the traditions pretty well, and there ain't a tradition against kickin' ass as long as he's still... well, he doesn't breathe, he can run outta blood and still live... I guess as long as he's still suckin' when it's done. Besides, how are people gonna fear breakin' the traditions (and the wrath of those who enforce them) if it ain't followed by an asskickin'.

Anyway, the lessons I've learned aren't very interesting. People with spooky powers don't like large amounts of fecal matter on their doorstep. Malkavians are like that Vader guy from that movie, and can read your mind. I wonder if he can choke people, too. If it wasn't a blatant violation of the masquerade, that'd look kinda neat. Oh, yes, and as always, the Prince is much stronger than he looks, which is already pretty strong. I guess you'd have to be strong to be a warlord. I do sorta wanna know who's arms he was swingin' about in Elysium, although I'll probably hear about it eventually.

That's the nice thing about the Nos. If you're curious, you'll find out eventually.
