Darkness Reigns LARP: Session 2 Synopsis "Far Country"

Synopsis: Session 2 - "Far Country"

Back to Session 2 Summeries

Observations of Earl "E.P." Morrison (Clan Brujah, Sheriff):

From the Journal of E. P. Morrison (May 19, 2001)

Last night was truly a disappointment to behold. The best tracking devices we had, the ghouls of Conrad and Edith, were murdered. I do believe at least one of the bodies has not yet been found, but I am sure it is just that... a body, as it did not come to me when i called for it. It makes me wonder if anyone can talk to the dead.

I also missed the majority of the viking celebration. Even Sweeny left the Elysium for that, and here myself and my deputies were making phonecalls. I swear, I never get a chance to relax. But back to the point.. When I got to the Island, to talk to the Primogen, only 2 were there. It seems the Island was full of drunks dressed up and fightin' each other. Sad really. Then the Primogen didn't all get together for another half an hour back inside the Elysium library. Well, the Malk. Whip was there in place of Mr. Gates, but that's besides the point.

And come to think of it, I sincerely do not believe that I emphasized the right points with them. I know they are loyal to Prince Colbey. I know they want this Connery issue solved. However, I do not think some of them realize that they could be next. Connery, or Damocles, could be manipulating any single Kindred in the city, mayhaps to 'eliminate' a particular Primogen this time. So for their own safety as well, I hope they set their clan priorities straight and make use of their resources. Shit, if any of them feel they have more important things to do, I certainly would like to know what that is. ...and it is amazin' how priorities change when you realize your own life could be on the line.

Next, there is Damocles himself. I do believe he is closer than I realize, and easier to apprehend than he would like to be. If all goes well with my next plan, he should be under my thumb in under a month. This guy might be good, but there is somebody who knows somebody that knows him.

Lastly, there is the issue with the cell phones. I cannot believe this bastard managed to tap Colbey's phone again. I am personally working on finding the right company to provide "secure" service. It will take quite a bit of money for the acquisition, but nothing I haven't done before.

At least the Rant went relatively well, 3 welcome additions to the clan. I wonder how Ivan is doing...

Observations of Meyer (Clan Brujah):

Ya'll are gonna have to forgive me, I'm new at the whole internet dealie. Not much need for it on the South Side. Anyway, I was wondering what kind of effect sunlamps have on our kind. Not expecting much, but if they work, I can put them into headlights on anyone's cars who wanted them. Of course, I'd need someone to tweak the lights to the right frequency, plus a test subject to try it out on. Where ever could I find one of them?

Oh yeah, the whole summary thing. Well, it was a slow night for me and Sharp. Just got into the city, got acknowledged, and met a few folks. The Gangrel seem pretty cool. We helped them track down the poseurs in the park. I was a step away from capping them just because they went to see "Forsaken." Dumbass kids. Got to go see Dr. Wu's place. He's got some gorgeous cars out there. I can't wait to see what else I can get out of them. Talked with my clanmates for a bit, and tried not to get killed. That's just a personal mission I think everyone should have. Other than that, not much. My shop's open for business, and my car lot has grown and grown. Anybody needs wheels, talk to me. And that's all the news that's fit to print!

Observations of Raphael Emersen (Clan Brujah):

Despite being acknowledged in this city for sometime now, I still feel off-balance when dealing with the everyday (or everynight?) workings of the Camarilla. I prefer things clear cut, and this "masquerade within a masquerade" can be quite trying, mentally. Being without my sire has not helped, and many nights I find my self flailing for direction. For now, I will follow the flow of events where they will take me. Hopefully I'll learn to steer over time.

For me, the most recent night of Elysium began when it was reported that a body had washed up on the riverbank. It immediately piqued my interest, mostly because my sire was still missing. Only later did I learn of the possible connection to the ghouls of Conrad and Edith. (This worries me - I should have realized this fact much earlier on my own.) Seeing as my clanmates were not nearby, I hooked up with members of my coterie to begin investigating the matter. I spent much of the evening with Anton, a recently acknowledged member of the Tremere. We talked with various other vampires and tried to use our influence to gather information, but with few results. We were expecting some help from Ol' Eddy, but he was unfortunately "unavailable" for the rest of the night. In any case it seems our efforts were unnecessary, seeing as how the facts concerning the body were revealed to all when the Prince held court.

During our investigation, we attended the festivities held in honor of the Prince. Some drunken homeless people were brought in, apparently as "entertainment". I found this rather distasteful. Apparently the Nosferatu Primogen found it even more so...

After court, I attended a clan meeting. It seems these Brujah meetings are referred to by some as "rants". Two new members were introduced: Michael, a very loyal Sabat hunter, and Meyer, Michael's sire. It seems that Meyer is something of a mechanic, and runs a chop shop. He apparently will be doing some business for Dr. Wu, gaining some "Dragon's Breath" rounds for his sodoff and who knows what else.
