Three Days Down by Jane St. Clair -- [try to explain my issues with D/M in a way that actually has something to do with why i like this story]
Friend of the Devil by shalott -- This story would take prizes in multiple categories if I were giving them out--it's not just a Duncan/Methos scenario I can totally believe in, but so many Dark Quickening stories focus on Duncan being dangerous as opposed to his being in danger, and what rang so true in this one was the way the encounter between them functioned not to keep Methos safe from him but to keep Duncan safe. I also don't like most fan fiction stories that explore sadomasochistic themes because they're rarely character-driven enough for my taste, but this is one of the exceptions.
Breaking the Code by Bone is incredibly hot. If there were a couple of moments where I had to suspend my disbelief, and maybe a few pieces of dialogue I didn't buy, that so didn't matter because the rest of this story worked for me... I'm not even sure why--because it's good, sure, but more than that there's just something about it--but it's one of a handful of stories I find really vivid and memorable and can see happening in a way that's practically visual.
Hope Forgotten and All the Good Women by Janeen Grohsmeyer -- It was really hard to choose just two things to rec out of everything Janeen has written...

The Kiss by Alice in Stonyland -- My favorite version thus far (until someone adequately explores the twisted potential of a Methos/Rebecca/Amanda triangle) of Methos and Amanda's first meeting.
