A failure of acceptance A failure of words A failure of mathematical equations, gestures, and reputation The failure of poetry Is the destruction of feelings Which is the crusher of hope A sick and twisted thing hope is Making you yearn for what you think you have Until it falls right out of your own hands Dented or destroyed, it's all the same in the end The failure of everything Leaving just hollow sound Not strong enough to echo down the hall Yet still bounces back to smack you in the face The rejection leaves a scar from the eye to the gut The blood ran clear After so much bleeding Because of failure of poetry
