to the Mount Athos autonomous region of Greece, monastery city!!

so she could get into the local paper when she came back from Greece. Shameless self-promoter!
I think she learned that from one of her former, and seriously narcissistic, supervisors.

Mt Athos, probably the holiest place in Christendom outside of the Middle East. The peninsula,
now an island because of a canal, is an autonomous region of Greece. You can't step foot on this
holy place without a permit or a penis. No women allowed. The only woman who, supposedly,
has set foot here is the Virgin Mary. Judy Van Raalte wanted to swim ashore, touch the beach with her
big toe, and say "Nyah!" but she is a Philistine. There are about 19 monasteries here. Criminals in Greece
occasionally flee to Mt Athos to avoid prosecution in Greece and then become monks.
