I thought that the computer was supposed to make life easier for most of us? (other then the people that have to fix moniters that 'dont work' because the tint is too low) I honestly find myself annoyed by the volume of IMs and email that I get. I get it from everyone and everything that can possibly send it. (I'm supprised that my dog has not sent me something since she is smart)
Ever person nowadays seems like they are just there to "chat". Ok, then why am I signed on if I don't want to talk? Well, I was there first, so why should I leave? To be honest, there are some people that I like to talk to, then there's some that I don't care whether they IM me or not, and finally there are the people that IM me and make me go "WHAT THE?!?! STUPID PIECE OF!!"
I have found there are about 4 types of people online, "normal", "badass", "stupid", and "clueless"
Someone that would be in the normal category would say something like:
NORMAL PERSON: Hello ME: Hey NORMAL PERSON: What's up? ME: Nothing Much, you? NORMAL PERSON: Oh, Same here NORMAL PERSON: Did you see the Yankee game? ME: Yea.... hahahaha, they lost NORMAL PERSON: Shut up
See, that's what I would like to refer to as "normal". But unfortunately for me not many of the people that I have run into are like that. I have all of the others. My favorite has got to be the badass type. You see, they are the type that are just mad at the world. They don't like anyone. They want to hunt you down over the 'net and kill you.
BADASS: hey fag ME: Word to your motha BADASS: me and my boyz heard you wanted to start sumthin ME: Um... when did I say that? BADASS: shut up, dont speak until spoken to ME: You asked me a question, G BADASS man, i kill you ME: It'll be hard to do so if you don't know where I live BADASS: yea well i got ways of findin that sh*t out aight
That's mostly found in chat rooms (obviously with more people). Chat rooms are breading grounds for such behavior since most 16-year-old males gather in such places. They want to show off their toughness to all of their buddies. Chances of someone that you know only over the internet finding you and running you down with their riced out Honda Civic with the platinum rims is very slim.
Next in the list is the "clueless" type. They are the kind that you DON'T want to have working dealing with anything important. They have a very low vocabulary (similar to an 8-year-old) and just really aren't too bright.
ME: Hey AIR HEAD: hey ME: What's up? AIR HEAD nm jc u? ME: Um... nothing I guess... AIR HEAD OMG! THAT IS SOOOO KEWL! ME: You don't get out much do you? AIR HEAD hehe hehe hehe hehe
Did I tell you that they are not exactly the brightest bulb? I think it's just about 50/50 with the stupid people and clueless people here. Actually, I think the people under the stupid category are almost the same as the clueless people. The stupid people are the type that would think that by putting an away message up and sitting back while something downloads will make it go a lot faster. They are the type that will download one of those stupid things that claim to make you download faster. They are the type that think their operating system is AOL.
ME: You do know that having an away message up doesn't save much bandwidth... IDIOT: AUTO RESPONSE MESSAGE FROM IDIOT: hey i'm d/l AOL 6.0 rite now! leave a message and i'll get bak to u rite after it is done! ME: See, you just sent me that nice long message, I bet that took away a TON of bandwidth IDIOT: (2 hours later) wat???
Yes, the last two are the most common on the net. I am waiting for someone to come up with something shorter for all of the words out there.
Before I was actually thinking "geez, it takes so much time and too much damn thought to type like they do" Meaning that they take longer to do that crap then just to be "normal".
And then there's the younger type with their very own homepages that give shout outs to their other friends that dont even know about it. But I think that's for another time since that one will take a lot of explaining.
