Ah, only in New Jersey. Let me ask one good question here, would a gun have helped the people in the World Trade Centers at the time of the attack? The answer to that question is "No." So then why the heck are we here in New Jersy loading up on guns? Your guess is just as good as mine. I have no clue. The only reason why guns will not work is because the means that they are attacking us are too cowardly to ward off with guns.
Think about it, anyone on the gorund at that time couldn't have helped no matter how much they wanted to, where as the only people that could help are the people involved (in the plane) and they did not have any guns. So I don't see how buying a gun will really help in the current situation. I don't think they are going to break into someone's house to unleash terror on the entire nation.
What's with all of the people that are saying that "our cry of greif is not a cry for war"? I don't think we can just sit here while twiddling our thumbs waiting for something like that to happen again.
Sure, it is not good that we are going to lose some of our fine troops of our country, but if we don't act, it's gonna happen again.
Here's something that you should try on the anti-war people, go up to them, and ask them "Why do you think that war is not the answer?" they will then reply with something like "Because, it is only going to hurt more people than what we have right now", when they are in mid sentance there, punch them in the face. When they get back up to hit you back, tell them "what are you doing, you said that we should not fight back". Do it again, he or she will have to hit you back some time.
So the point is that sometimes we have to hit back. Killing the people that were responsible is not going to bring back those who died, but it will prevent the same thing from happening to the next group of people.
As for me, I am in support of what Bush is doing. I think that we have to take them out, before they start to take us out. I cannot have the idea of us people just sitting here, not doing anything, thinking that life is all good while stuff like that happens around us. And they cannot say that it is not going to happen again, we know for a fact that they had more planned for the U.S. that same day.
I worked on this a few days after all hell broke lose in New York City and Washington D.C. on September 11. I never really did get to finish the entire thing since it became just too hard to finish the last few events that took place as a result of the attacks up to that point.
I suppose if I wanted to work on that thing now, I'll be typing for quite a while, but hey, it's a start isn't it?
It started as a normal day in the Big Apple, as well as the rest of the world. The paper was delivered to all of the shops, the people of New York City were ready for what they thought was going to be a normal day of work in the big city. Little did they know that a war was going to start from that day on against all forms of terrorism in the world. No one knew what was lurking in the skies just a matter of an hour later.
At around 8:45am, Tuesday, September 17, 2001 the carnage had begun against the United States of America. The first jet had hit the South Tower of the World Trade Center. The war had begun. No one knew what happened at first. The TV programming on all of the major news stations were broken into and people were shown these pictures. At first they thought that a bomb within the building had gone off. But then, at 9:03am, just 18 minutes later, the next plane went into the North Tower of the World Trade center. The jet was going so fast into the tower that no one reporting it on TV caught what had happened. It was only till they replayed the TV when they saw what had really happened. They finally saw what they were dealing with. They came to realize that two passenger jets had slammed into the two land marks of New York City.
At this time, all flights in the United States were grounded. Any planes that did not land would be shot down if they did not comply. Not only were flights grounded, bridges and tunnels in and out of New York City were shut down to stop any possible attacks on the life lines to the city.
And then, just an hour after the first plane went into the South Tower, a plane had slammed into a section of the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Just when they thought that the day could simply not get any worse, it did. The South Tower of the World Trade Center did the unthinkable. It began to make it's deadly decent to the ground after it had been in flames for about one and a quarter hours. Next to come down was the section of the Pentagon that was in flames after another passenger jet slammed into the building going nearly 350 miles an hour. Again, just 28 minutes after the first South Tower collapsed, the North Tower took the same fate. It took the same deadly decent as the first one did.
No one knows for sure how many people were killed on impact of the first stage (when the planes hit), they only know the number of people that were on board the planes. It is said that about 50,000 people are employed in those two buildings alone. What was shown on TV, no one thought that anyone could make it out of the hellish area which was once known as "The World Trade Center".
For hours the dust and debris from the two 110 story, 1250 foot building rained on the great city of New York. The dust was so thick that you could not see in it, it was so heavy that you could not breathe within the cloud.
For hours and hours on television they showed the same images of the most famous buildings in the New York Sky line being demolished. Over and over again, no matter how many times people saw it, they could not believe what they were seeing. No one in their right minds thought that such massive buildings would be there one minute, and then the next they could just be gone and reduced to a 10 story pile of twisted metal. Even days later people would see it again on the news, and would still wonder to themselves if it really happened, if something like that really happened. The thought that someone would do such a thing makes people think that if it were really possible. But as time goes on, and reality sets in, the people will learn to accept it. They may not like the fact that over 5,000 fellow citizens lost their lives by making some cold hard cash for their families, but life has to prevail. Life will go on.
Kind of a lot to read, but you know what, it is the only time on the face of this planet that something like this happened, and I fear it is not the last time that people will die like that.
