Misc:Just in time for the work week -- Chris @ 8:43pm || Post in the forum
I have some song lyrics that I think would fit in right now. I think that if anyone has any song lyrics that you would like to possibly post on the thread that has been started by me over at the forum. Do something besides watch the news and stuff tomorrow, get your mind over it, give others something to read, something to remember.
The Wallflowers:
"We Can Be Heros"
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever.
We can be Heroes, just for one day.
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing, nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
I, I remember standing, by the wall
And the guns, shot above our heads
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever
Then we could be Heroes, just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
Chumbawamba:
"Tubthumping"
We'll be singing
When we're winning
We'll be singing
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away
He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
Of the better times:
"Oh Danny Boy
Danny Boy
Danny Boy..."
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
Pissing the night away
Pissing the night away
He drinks a whisky drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him
Of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him
Of the better times:
"Don't cry for me
Next door neighbour..."
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
We'll be singing
When we're winning
We'll be singing
EDIT: That was purely hypocritical, say "get your mind off of it" and then I put some images of it right after I say that... good one Chris! *slaps self on forehead*

As you know, this site deals with "funny" (happy, gay, merry, whatever) news. But there is nothing really out there that I can get to. There is not really anything out there that I can find that would be other than people dying, buildings falling, and people crying. So you will have to remember that at times like this, no matter where you go, you will find the same problem.
I am not saying that we should forget about the people that died on Tuesday's attacks. What I am saying is that life goes on. We must not think about it day in and day out. Only think about the good things in life. If one were to think about all of the bad things in life, there would not be time to think about anything else. Simply because it is life. It is depressing. This maybe a test just to see how well we can do together as a nation and as a world. The people of this nation together will come out of this as one, stronger nation. The people of this world will come out of this as one, stronger world.
I think that the people that fell in Tuesday's horrific attacks would like us as a nation together to go on, but keep them in our prayers. Do not let the people that are responsible get what they want - fear, terror, they want to the United States of America to fall apart. If we stand around doing nothing that is what will happen.
On Monday, back when you are at work, bring out the good of your job. Try to go a day without having to look on the TV and seeing those sad images of countless people crying, wondering if their loved ones are alive - somewhere in the sea of carnage full of rescue workers
Life goes on. It's time to gulp back that lump in our throat and move along with our head high. Time to go back to being what it was before Tuesday. No matter what we do, there will be a scar that will be there for an eternity. The scar will be a reminder of what life is. Life is precious, for that don't forget just how easily it can come, and then the next thing you know, it is gone.
Together as a nation we will come out of this stronger than before. Together as a nation we will rid the world of terrorists.
I will see what I can get my hands on that will be funny to change the mood of this place. I don't know if I'll be able to find some new stuff given the magnitude of what happened, but I will make an effort.
