Misc: In The Mail... -- Chris @ 6:35pm || Post in the forum
I know, it is hard to get over what happened on Tuesday, many people are still missing, around 5000 right now, and rescue efforts are slow.

There have been many emails that I have gotten the last few days that have had something to do with the week's events.

Also on AIM the last few days I have noticed a lot more people sending me "Chain IMs" to get around to many people. I at one point found about 5 of them waiting for me when I was away once. Some of them said

In memory of all of the people that died today, the workers, people in the air planes, and innocent bystanders, please send this to as many people as you can till everyone on the 'net has seen it.

Other emails that I have been getting from people that I know also have something to do about this. One of the most annoying places for SPAM sent me something about the attacks, and here is what they had to say about it:

Hello,

It is rare that a person gets to write to 1.5 million people as I am doing now. At times I felt that I did not want to do anything for the rest of this week out of respect and other times I felt that life needs to go on out of respect. These terrorists want us to stop everything, and by definition, feel fear and terror. We cannot give them that satisfaction. They have ruined the lives of thousands of our citizens, changed the way we do business, and changed the way we will live. But we need to show them that life goes on, and at least give them the appearance that we are not afraid. My hopes and prayers are with all of the victims and their families and friends during this time. I am very proud to be an American and it is at a time like this I finally realized realize how strong we are as a nation. We will come out ahead. The defense budget that many of us thought was a waste of billions of our tax dollars, will prove to be well worth it. I believe that we NOW have a very strong President and staff who will do whatever it takes to make sure that our nation will feel the comfort and security that most have become accustomed to, and most have taken for granted. For me personally, this put everything in perspective. I watched my two boys on their skateboards, smiling and laughing, and I realized how quickly they can lose me or my wife or how quickly we can lose them. Life is fleeting. So love your family as much as humanly possible, say sorry to loved ones you may have a grudge on, say "I love you" to the people that you love, begin to love the people that you hate or dislike, love yourself more, laugh, play, smile, dance, and praise God. He is good. One last thing......don't sweat the small stuff!

God Bless,
Eitor

And the emails still came in today to me about this, here is yet another one that was fowarded to me:

This, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing. America: The Good Neighbor.

Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.

The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles.

You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon-not once, but several times-and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at.

Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.

I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."

Stand proud, America!

I would hope that each of you would send this to as many people as you can and emphasize that they should send it to as many of their friends until this letter is sent to every person on the web.

Here is yet another one that I got, this one about what Nostradamus said back in the 1600's

Nostradamus' prediction on WW3:

"In the year of the new century and nine months, From the sky will come a great King of Terror... The sky will burn at forty-five degrees. Fire approaches the great new city..." "In the city of york there will be a great collapse, 2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb third big war will begin when the big city is burning"

- NOSTRADAMUS

He said this will be bigger than the previous two. 2001 is the first year of the new century and this is the 9th month. New York is located at the 41st degree Latitude.

I don't know what other people think about that, but I know that some say that it is a bunch of crap. He did say that the end of the world was in the year 2000, so we cannot die again, can we?

As always, your comments are always welcomed here, you can either email me and I'll post it here, or you can take it to the forum. However, there is a thread that is already there that is going on which you can post in
