Misc: Follow Up On: "Advice From SPAM Man" -- Chris @ 11:50pm
I just noticed this now, but about an hour after I ran that story about SPAM and ways to stop it, I got spammed once again.

This time someone saying that I had a great site, and that they could help me out with more traffic for some money.

Maybe I should just stop mentioning that word SPAM, maybe that will help. Like I really read it too...

Entertainment: Jackass canceled? -- Jon @ 10:47pm
Johnny Knoxville has announced that Jackass will no longer continue to make new episodes because of the influence that it has on the kids watching it...although, MTV will continue to air the repeats. Only 24 of them but still. What good is canceling the new episodes but playing the old ones? it will just make the people wanting to try something from the show still want to do it. I say if MTV and Johnny Knoxville wants to make an impact on todays "juvenile dilenquents", then they should take the show off all together.

Entertainment: At The Movies This Summer -- Chris @ 1:35pm
We all know that there have been quite a few large movies this summer. That is typical for every summer. But how have they done? Have they crashed and burned? Or have they made a huge profit? Let's take a look at some stats that I stumbled accross shall we?

Shrek opened in 3,587 theaters, second week sales went up
Pearl Harbor opened in 3,214 theaters, second week it was dropped like it was hot, down 50%
Tomb Raider opened in 3,308 theaters, second week down 59%
and for the wors drop, Planet of The Apes, opened in 3,500 theaters, and in the second week, down 60%

Hey, not bad, not bad. So, what is going on here? Isn't the summer supposed to be when everyone goes to see the movies? Well yea... but the thing is that they are opening in so many theaters that more and more people can go to see them at one time instead of having to wait to see the movie. Back in 1975 Jaws only opened in just over 400 theaters nation wide, so I don't think the "sales" went down that second week, I bet they went up a good deal, maybe up to 50%.

As more and more people see it at one time, the movies will be around less and less time. So that means that they will have to put out more and more movies to keep things moving along on the big screen. Meaning that the movies that you just saw this summer may be aviable on DVD this holiday season to even make them more money.

And like I have seen any of the movies that have come out this summer? Nooo... I really did not see apes that did not act like real ones. I mean, they did not move right... not to mention that apes don't talk. That brings me to some guy that was mad about the apes not looking "real" enough... shouldn't he have been worried about the apes talking at first? Jeez
