start What The Hell Is Wrong With These People? -- Chris || Post in the forum
line.jpg
The poll question currently at CNN reads, "Are the detainees in Cuba being treated appropriately?". I voted for "No, they are not." Only to find that about 50,000 more people think that they are being treated fairly.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Do they think that they are being "punished" look at the life that they lived before here, and look where your tax money is going to - to keep the same people that wanted to kill you alive. And yet you still think that they are being treated right.

If anything, they shouldn't be given any food, they shouldn't be given any place for shelter. But nope, that's not how it's meant to be since our Constitution clearly says that everyone has a right to a fair trial, and not have cruel or unusual punishment. Well, having food to eat is unusual to them, so isn't it unusual punishment?

Maybe next time when you say "Yes, they are being treated fairly", you should take into account that they have better treatment than some of our own citizens that have never tried to kill us before. Some Americans don't have food, and they do. Yet the American's here without food have never done anything wrong... these Taliban now have food. Don't you see something slightly wrong with the way things play out here? Many Americans don't have a home, and some have a home, but not a very good one. These Taliban that are in Cuba now have better housing than the homeless Americans do. Are some of you catching on yet? A small portion of your tax money is going to keep the people alive, when you're fellow citizens are suffering, and dying.

Actually, I'd prefer if you said "No" since you (probably) live in America, and you have a right to go against what the government wants. That's why it's America. You're money, that you worked for is going to keep the people that wanted to kill you. Just imagine, some of the money that victim's have is going to keep the people that killed one of their family members alive. I am sure they think "No, who cares"...

Note that I am aware that some people that voted at CNN don't live in the U.S., therefore probably don't have the same views as most American readers do.
