start Cause And Effect -- Chris || Post in the forum

Effect: People don't want to buy more stuff since they are worried about more attacks.

Cause: After we were all told that some time this week, somewhere within the United States, something was going to happen to some of us, and they don't know what it is, or when exactly it is going to take place. They just know that it will be from someone that does not like the U.S., and wants to kill people. So in short terms, they said "some people may die within the week"

Yes, quite simple when you think about it... but yet I don't get what the heck people have to loose if they know they are going to die, I mean, wouldn't that mean that you can buy what ever the heck you wanted to and you would not have to pay back any debt that you may work yourself into during that time.

The poll over at CNN for today asks, Will Americans continue to take alerts seriously if attacks don't follow?

Well, let me express what I think about that. I think that you give it enough time, people will start saying "nothing is going to happen" and think nothing of it. This is almost human nature. In order to keep people on their toes, they have to see the threat. But if people here don't see anything happening, they are bound to relax a bit.

I for one at times forget of some of the dangers that exist out there. I mean, take a look at the car, you can get into an accident, but it never happens to you, but when it does happen, you don't know what to think. You think "oh it will never be me" in reality that ccan happen to you. And this is almost the same thing, if the people here don't see a threat, the will relax their outlook on terrorism.

But hey, look on the bright side, Halloween is tomorrow.

You know what that means, time for a billion kids to knock on your door for candy, or it could be the same group of kids that keep on coming back - I couldn't tell. Did you make sure you went through the entire check list of things that can go wrong with your costume? Such as not being able to see and walking into a car going head on. Or falling down a flight of 25 stairs on the way to get one piece of candy from someone that you don't even know? I'm sure we don't want anyone to wind up getting hurt from something like that, and that is exactly why I reminded the younger readers of threats like that.

And what would not be better for this occasion to mark it with some special Halloween screen savers from download.com? Well, you can, but I'm fine with mine the way it is now.
