start Finally, some good news for NY -- Jon || Post in the forum

Tearing away from the Anthrax and World Trade Center for a while(and a bit off the usual Geekery topics), The New York Yankees have made it to their 4th World Series in a row. Not bad eh? This year, there are 6 "newbies" to the team, including:

Todd Greene, Mike Mussina, Jay Witasick, Alfonso Soriano, Randy Velarde, and Enrique Wilson.

These players added to the team this season will be having their first seires with the Yankees, versus the Arizona Diamondbacks, along with the other "regular" 19 players. But with all this commotion about Anthrax and the war between us and Afghanistan, this has been pretty much forgotten.

Moving on...(back to the terrorism)

Taliban could be planning to poison american food sent to refugees and citizens caught in the areas that have been bombed.

The Defense Department said Wednesday that Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers could be planning to poison food aid intended for the civilian population and blame the United States. While the threat heightened the urgency of the U.S. military campaign, a senior official maintained that the Pentagon was “prepared to take as long as required to take the Taliban down.”

I have a question...WHY?! These people are trying to flee our bombing and all their "government" can do is poison them? Before this, the taliban was informing the citizens of Afghanistan that it was already poisoned by the US. Now they are going and doing it. Should we continue to drop food? Post your thoughts in the forum.

The American Flag Here is another thing that I find that is sad when they have to pass a bill that makes it a must to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance

So they have to pass that to get people to stand up for 20 seconds? Again, something is wrong there in my opinion.

Sure, we may have the right not to have to do that, but think about what you are doing when you do not stand up and recite the 30 some odd words. You are not showing the people respect that gave an arm and a limb for what you want to exercise. They fought for it, they won. Why cannot we just show them the respect that they earned and salute them? Isn't that the least that we can do for some of whom died protecting our freedom?

When you say that you are not going to do it because it is against your religion to do so, remember why you can practice such a religion upon this land called "America". Remember that people, all once living, all once had a name, all once had a family - a life died for giving you those rights, those freedoms. So in turn, you do not want to show respect to the people that died defending your ability to practice that religion.

I honestly think that is the least that we can do to show them some respect that they really do need. If it was not for those people, you would not be able to complain about stuff like this. So stand up for the 20 seconds and get it over with, it is not that hard, is it? I know that I do not have a problem with such a thing. And right now, we should be pretty darn proud of that Flag.
