The two run closer to the CAMERA, bolts zipping by their

The remaining transports depart into the air, blaster bolts
grazing their hulls.

ATKINSON RAIN stands on the boarding ramp to her ship.

She runs inside just before OBI-WAN and AMIDALA do.
The boarding ramp closes.

The boarding ramp opens.

pistol.

OBI-WAN watches AMIDALA run from the ship.

ATKINSON watches AMIDALA rush toward the MANDALORIANS.

AMIDALA runs toward the prison camp, picking off every
MANDALORIAN she sees.

Amidala's eyes are narrow.

The CAMERA is positioned below a small ledge leading to the
camp.
Blaster fire shoots out from atop it.

AMIDALA lands amid a pile of rusting metal slag.
She stands and fires three quick shots.

THREE MANDALORIANS, the only MANDALORIANS on screen, fall.

AMIDALA kneels in the jagged metal, rummaging through the
parts.

Amidala's hands go through sharp rusty scrap.

A profile view, AMIDALA looks down at what she is doing very
intently.
A strand of hair hangs down over her eyes.

AMIDALA goes through the starship parts.
She pulls back a large silver piece of armor plate... a part
of the Marie Celeste.
It has lost its shine and is dull and dirty, only small
patches still bright.
CLOSE UP - AMIDALA
Amidala's eyes are determined.

AMIDALA digs through the metal.
CLOSE SHOT - AMIDALA'S HANDS
AMIDALA clears through a pile of small loose parts, the top
of a BLUE ASTROMECH DROID now visible.

AMIDALA smiles.

AMIDALA clears away the rest of the parts, brushing off the
rusted DROID, left for dead.
It is ARTOO-DETOO.

AMIDALA runs her fingers over the DROID, searching for an
access panel.
CLOSE SHOT - AMIDALA'S HANDS
AMIDALA finds an opening panel. She pulls it back, revealing
a mess of wires, corroded by neglect. The maze of
connections is covered in dirt, dust, and grime.
AMIDALA tries to make sense of what she finds, attempting to
repair the ASTROMECH DROID.
CLOSE UP - AMIDALA
A profile view, AMIDALA blows into the opening, causing a
thick cloud of dust to cover her face.
CLOSE SHOT - AMIDALA'S HANDS
AMIDALA tries to repair the wires and connections.
She cannot.
MEDIUM SHOT - AMIDALA AND ARTOO-DETOO
AMIDALA growls, upset.
She sticks Obi-Wan's blaster pistol into the panel and fires
a shot.

ARTOO wakes up, screaming.
His head spins, his eye darting about.

A profile view, AMIDALA speaks to the DROID.
Her words are a soft but frantic whisper.

the ship. Obi-Wan's there. Fix it.

The hair is still in her eyes.
AMIDALA

CLOSE UP - ARTOO-DETOO
ARTOO beeps a scared beep.
MEDIUM SHOT - AMIDALA
AMIDALA turns around, ready to return to the ship.
She gasps.
MEDIUM SHOT - MANDALORIAN
A SINGLE MANDALORIAN stands there, behind her. He is
waiting. His blaster rifle is pointed at her.
MEDIUM SHOT - AMIDALA
AMIDALA stands up and faces the ALIEN SOLDIER.
Then, in a single instant and a single movement, AMIDALA
brings up Obi-Wan's pistol and shoots at the MANDALORIAN.
MEDIUM SHOT - MANDALORIAN
The Mandalorian's blaster is hit, falling to the ground
beside him.
MEDIUM SHOT - AMIDALA
AMIDALA screams and charges at the MANDALORIAN.
MEDIUM SHOT - AMIDALA AND MANDALORIAN
AMIDALA jabs the pistol into the MANDALORIAN.
She fires it, the bolt going through the Mandalorian's spine.
She shoots again and again and again and again.
CLOSE UP - AMIDALA
A profile view, AMIDALA shows her teeth, growling as she
pulls the trigger again and again.

The MANDALORIAN flops back and forth, lifeless.

AMIDALA continues to fire round after round into the
MANDALORIAN.

AMIDALA pulls the trigger again and again and again.

representing all her captors.

They tear up, overcome with emotion and unwanted memories.

A profile view, AMIDALA drops to her knees, trying to hold
back her tears.

EXT. ARC-1138 - ROCKY BASIN - WIDE SHOT
ARTOO-DETOO moves across the empty land, narrowly avoiding
blaster shots.
CLOSE UP - ARTOO-DETOO
A blaster bolt rings past his head. ARTOO beeps a frantic
wail.
WIDE SHOT - ATKINSON'S SHIP
ARTOO rolls toward Atkinson's ship in the distance.
MEDIUM UP - OBI-WAN KENOBI
OBI-WAN KENOBI stands on the boarding ramp, wielding his blue
lightsabre with his good hand. His right arm is slack at his
side.
He swings it at the oncoming blaster bolts with his left hand
alone.
ARTOO-DETOO casually rolls up to his side and beeps, saying
hello. He then continues on to the side of the ship.
CLOSE UP - OBI-WAN KENOBI
OBI-WAN watches the BLUE DROID pass by.
MEDIUM SHOT - ARTOO-DETOO
ARTOO rolls to the side of the ship.
He stops in front of a large black scorch mark.
CLOSE SHOT - ARTOO'S ARMS
Several small skeletal work arms extend out of ARTOO. The
slim appendages begins to repair the exposed wiring.
CLOSE UP - ARTOO-DETOO
ARTOO beeps as more bolts fly by his head.
CLOSE SHOT - ARTOO'S ARMS
ARTOO replaces the fine wiring and bypasses fused circuits.
MEDIUM SHOT - ARTOO-DETOO
A blaster bolt hits ARTOO square on the back. He screams.
CLOSE SHOT - ARTOO'S ARMS
The full force and power of the bolt goes through Artoo's
work arms, heating them almost to their melting point.
INT. ATKINSON'S SHIP - CLOSE SHOT - DISPLAYS
All the power displays glow green.
CLOSE UP - ATKINSON RAIN
ATKINSON shouts.
ATKINSON RAIN
The engines just got kick started!
CLOSE SHOT - THROTTLE
ATKINSON punches the throttle.
The engines begin to grind.
EXT. ARC-1138 - ATKINSON'S SHIP - MEDIUM SHOT
The engines flare on in an explosion of blue fire. After a
moment, they enter into a more controlled burn.

EXT. ARC-1138 - ROCKY BASIN - NEAR LEDGE - MEDIUM SHOT -
AMIDALA
AMIDALA kneels on the ground, sniffling.
CLOSE UP - AMIDALA
A profile view, AMIDALA wipes away her tears.

AMIDALA gets up. She places Obi-Wan's pistol inside her
tattered clothes and picks up the dead Mandalorian's blaster
rifle.

EXT. ARC-1138 - ROCKY BASIN - WIDE SHOT - AMIDALA
AMIDALA runs across the wasteland, still picking off every
MANDALORIAN that she sees.
WIDE SHOT - ATKINSON'S SHIP
AMIDALA runs toward the ship, its engines spitting out blue
flame.
MEDIUM SHOT - OBI-WAN KENOBI
ARTOO rolls up into the ship as OBI-WAN bats a blaster bolt
back with his single-handed grip on his sabre.
MEDIUM SHOT - AMIDALA
A MANDALORIAN falls behind AMIDALA, struck down by the
reflected bolt.
MEDIUM SHOT - OBI-WAN KENOBI
OBI-WAN swings his sabre at three more shots.
AMIDALA jumps up onto the ramp.
It begins to close the moment she get on.
She fires a burst of two quick bolts as the ramp is closing.
WIDE SHOT - ATKINSON'S SHIP
Atkinson's ship quickly rises up from the planet's surface,
turning at a ninety degree angle and zipping up into the
atmosphere, blaster bolts going just wide.
EXT. SPACE - ATKINSON'S SHIP
Atkinson's ship tears through the upper atmosphere of ARC-
1138.
INT. ATKINSON'S SHIP - MEDIUM SHOT - OBI-WAN
OBI-WAN walks over to ATKINSON and her controls.
He leans toward the comm system, clutching his right
shoulder.
He weakly activates it with his right hand.
OBI-WAN
This is General Kenobi to all ABCs.
CLOSE UP - OBI-WAN KENOBI
OBI-WAN
Check your passengers.

OBI-WAN drags his limp hand off the comm switch.

He stumbles to the seats against the side wall of the ship,
next to where AMIDALA is seated.
They are toward the rear of the chamber, far behind the
pilot's chair.
He stares forward, clutching his right shoulder.
AMIDALA reluctantly looks at him.
MEDIUM SHOT - ATKINSON RAIN
ATKINSON turns around to OBI-WAN.
ARTOO is at her side.
ATKINSON RAIN
We've got one transport following us.
(beat)
Shall I set course for Naboo?
ARTOO coos to ATKINSON. She glances down at the DROID.
MEDIUM SHOT - OBI-WAN KENOBI
OBI-WAN stares at the wall across from him, giving no answer.
MEDIUM SHOT - ATKINSON RAIN
ATKINSON looks at OBI-WAN, waiting a moment.
ATKINSON RAIN
Setting course for Naboo.
She turns around.
ARTOO coos.
MEDIUM SHOT - OBI-WAN KENOBI AND AMIDALA
OBI-WAN stares out in front of him.
AMIDALA leans closer to OBI-WAN.
Her words are genuine.
OBI-WAN is belligerent. He doesn't turn to AMIDALA once.

EXT. THEED - WIDE SHOT
Theed is different... bigger.
A series of large sandstone towers reach up into the sky. A
single large blaster cannon sits atop each spire.
A large silver object sits off in the outskirts of Theed.
Atkinson's ship and the ABC fall across the city.
EXT. THEED - AIR FIELD - WIDE SHOT
Atkinson's ship and the ABC descend down upon an air strip
near the palace. Several N-1 fighters line the ground.
MEDIUM SHOT - ATKINSON'S SHIP
Atkinson's ship lands, the ABC coming in behind it.
They touch down with a controlled metallic clang.
WIDE SHOT - NABOO SOLDIERS
FIVE NABOO SOLDIERS rush to the craft. They have their guns
drawn.

The boarding ramp slowly opens, hissing.
OBI-WAN KENOBI stands behind it.
He strolls down the ramp.

The LEAD SOLDIER pulls out a small cylindrical comm link with
his free hand and speaks into it.

OBI-WAN and AMIDALA look at each other.
WIDE SHOT - GOVERNOR OF THEED
The GOVERNOR OF THEED marches out onto the air strip, out of
a palace entrance.
He paces over to the LEAD SOLDIER.
MEDIUM SHOT - GOVERNOR OF THEED AND LEAD SOLDIER
The GOVERNOR looks to the SOLDIER, wanting to know why he was
called down here.
The LEAD SOLDIER looks at Atkinson's ship.
The GOVERNOR looks, too.

OBI-WAN and AMIDALA stand on the boarding ramp.
CLOSE UP - GOVERNOR OF THEED
The GOVERNOR OF THEED stares at AMIDALA.
His face turns white.
