Japanese BombersThe Japanese never employed bombers in quite the same fashion as the British, Americans, or Germans during WWII. Most of their bombers were medium weight or small torpedo or dive bombers. Although the Japanese never used startegic bombing, per se, they did use their bombers against massed civilian populations such as the infamous bombing of Nanking in 1930 something. Both the Japanese Army and Navy used land based bombers during the war. Most of the Navy's bombers, however, were carrier based torpedo or dive bombers. The bombers on this page were all land based.
