About Mike Mike Volkman has been involved in drag racing since he was ten years old. He has always had an interest in cars and attended Beattie Technical school for automechanics when he was in high school. Mike also went to The University of Pittsburgh for four years, achieving his Bachelors degree as a certified automotive instructor. He taught automechanics at Beattie Tech. for a year, and at General Motors for two. Mike worked at various dealerships before getting a job with Chevy and he has now been with Chrysler since 1982. He built his first race car in 1992, a 1993 Chrysler LeBaron, with Carl Schodde, the man responsible for peaking Mike's interest in cars at such a young age. In 1999 Mike built his second race car, a 2000 Chrysler Sebring, with his brother-in-law, Doug Gardner. This is the car that Mike currently drives.
