Snatch
Turkish (Jason Statham) and his buddy Tommy (Stephen Graham) are boxing promoters in England. They wanted to set up a match with their boxer Gorgeous George (Adam Fogerty) for a local gangster Brick Top Polford (Alan Ford). Turkish wanted Tommy to buy a new trailer for him, so Tommy took George to go buy one from some gypsies that are called pikeys in England. They get into a disagreement and a pikey named Mickey O'Neil (Brad Pitt) breaks Gorgeous George's jaw. Turkish and Tommy now have to come up with a new fighter for Bricktop.
Meanwhile a stickman buy the name of Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro) stole a large diamond with some russians and was supposed to sell it to Doug the head (Mike Reid). Doug was supposed to sell the diamond to his cousin Cousin Abraham 'Avi' Denovitz (Dennis Farina), but one of the Russians on the case told Boris 'The Blade' Yurinov (Rade Serbedzija) where the diamond was going to be. So Boris hired three hoods to steal it Sol(Lennie James), Tyrone(Ade) and Vinny (Robbie Gee).
These two plots get all mixed together in various different ways that turn out to be hilarious. Tonny and Avi have fights with the Boris, Vinny, Sol and Tyrone. Bricktop wants his fight so he makes sure that Mickey will fight by holding his whole group of pikey's hostage after burning Mickey's mother alive in her caravan. Tommy and Turkish are driving around scared for their life and it is up to them to convince Mickey to fight.
I thought this was a great movie. I bought it on DVD along with Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. I though they were both hilarious english gangster action movies. The characters and the language are what make these two movies so great. Bullet Tooth Tony is an awesome character in this movie, the way he handles the situations with the informant, and Sol and Vinny are all hilarious. Boris the blade is a really cool, excentric character as well and I like it how he never dies. This movie is full of crazy coincidences that keep you wondering what going to happen next. If you want to see a great action/commedy go see Snatch or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels!
