A bright soul, with humour and ready hands to help at any time, though filled with determination to do his jobs as best as possible. Only 22, those steel-grey eyes have already seen things to give most normal people nightmares for the rest of their lives - not that he doesn’t, but they are now familiar and can be dealt with, at least until something new adds to the group. A decendant of the famous Anita Blake, he’s similar in temperment at times, and very much a chip off the old block when it comes to those that threaten his life or those close to him.

The main job is that of an Animator - someone who can raise zombies - and he’s just lucky enough to be much more, in the form of a necromancer. With a bit of effort, he can raise five zombies a night, though lately it might be more...he hasn’t tried since coming to the Tavern. In his blood rests something else ((seriously hinted at, but so far revealed only once in the Room)), which comes down from Anita’s husband. However, besides the Animating, he’s also on loan to the Spook Squad - a special police group assigned to handle cases involving the supernatural. Actually, he’s pretty much a part of the squad since the bill passed to give Executioners federal powers involving the supernatural. Executioners are those few people that take on Vampires, most with some minor bits of powers to help them do so and survive.

As for what brought him to the tavern, for about a month he’d been trying to solve a particularily nasty vampire murderer case. There was already 6 dead, and the body count was bound to go higher if it wasn’t solved quickly. The back-trail lead to a rather secluded acreage of trees which nobody seemed to know much about, when he went there and walked amongst them, somehow the Tavern was found at the centre of the trees. After a few hesitant glances into the windows, Jarek went inside...only to find a place far more strange than he’d ever seen before. Creatures of myth rubbed shoulders with beings from other planets, the future, and many other places.
