ORIGINS AND EXCURSIONS IN PIGEON GENETICS by W. F. Hollander
Doc. Hollander was the man who taught all of us genetics, and the one who forced us to think.. This is a very informal history of the discovery written for the non-scientist of the various mutations and alleles of the common  pigeon.
By the way, even after these years, I still miss Doc and his letters.   The man was insightful, had a weird sense of humor, and knew more about genetics and pigeon genetics than I ever will.

SOME U.S. PIGEON SUPPLY COMPANIES

There are many other excellent pigeon books on the market - and some lousy ones. Many of these books are devoted to specific breeds, especially Birmingham Rollers and Racing Homers. Most can be purchased from the various supply houses which are listed below. I'm sorry, I don't know any suppliers outside the U.S., so you'll have to check with your local booksellers or pigeon supply companies.  I've linked each company to its site.

BREEDING AND INHERITANCE IN PIGEONS by Axel Sell.

The most beautiful of all the genetics works presently in print. Color photos showing the mutations discussed are a great help.

In German, but an excellent source of information for those who read the language.
