This section is for people who want to learn about the transformations that only a selected few Saiyans go through in Dragon Ball Z/GT. The legend said that every 1000 years, a Saiyan child would be born with unspeakable powers. When a Saiyan or Halfling (Half Saiyan and Human, the strongest of the two) become so emotional that a fiery aura would engulf them and their hair would turn gold and spiked, their eyes turn green, and their physical and mental attributes would increase indefinately. Saiyans are also born with tails which if they still have when they see a full moon, they will become an Oozaru; an ape-like figure which is incredibly large and spits ki beams where ever it see's fit. If you destroy the tail from a Saiyan, it cannot become an Oozaru and longer.

This talk of a Super Saiyan was a legend. Up until Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Goten, and Brolli proved that legend to be untrue. The first to reach this stage was Goku. He reached this stage in the Freiza Saga, when Piccolo had a near fatal blow from Freiza, and Krillin was demolished by Freiza single handedly. Goku became so enraged he changed from a black haired, black eyed Saiyan, to a Super Saiyan stage 1. Vegeta, soon became SSJ when he couldn't turn SSJ and he knew he was beat by Goku(Kakarrot)and became so enraged he went SSJ1.

This is just a level of Super Saiyan that lyes between SSJ1 and SSJ2. Vegeta and Trunks are the only ones who used it, but Vegeta never wanted to because it slowed him down immensely because of the physical growth of muscles. Trunks tried to use it against Cell and the Andriods but was unsuccessful.

This stage of Super Saiyan is very hard to reach. Not only do you need one of the extremes in emotions and excessive amounts fo training. Gohan was the first to reach this level. To transform to the stage of Super Saiyan, you must have one of the extremes in emotions, and have large amounts of training. It is harder to obtain this level then SSJ1. Only Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Brolli were able to reach this level.

»SSJ 3«

This level is extremely hard to access. The only Saiyans to reach this level are Goku, Gogeta, and Gotenks. Vegeta has the ability to access the level of SSJ but chose not too, and instead skipped over it to SSJ4. To become SSJ3, you must have an extremely emotional moment, and must train very vigorously. Staying in this stage for long periods of time puts huge amounts fo strain on the Saiyan, and also increases the rate at which they age.

SSJ4 is the hardest of all of them to obtain, since you need a tail to become SSJ4. If you are emotional enough, you may be able to grow a new tail. You also need incredible amounts of training and once again, an extreme emotional moment. Only three people obtained the level, Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta. Goku obtained it naturally. Gohan obtained it when someone told him that his father was dieing, but was just really injured, Gohan's anger was to much and passed right over SSJ3 and went to SSJ4. Vegeta obtained it with a machine that Bulma devised. When you obtain the SSJ4 level, your hair becomes less spiked, and more flat, and black. Their eyes turn a reddish color. And they grow pinkish black fur on their bodies. This stage is the strongest of them all with out changing to Oozaru.

»Oozaru«

To reach Oozaru, you must have a tail. When you look at a full moon and you also have a tail, you will change into a ape-liek figure that grows to enormous proportions. If you are SSJ4 when you change to Oozaru, you will become a Golden Oozaru. Only Vegeta and Goku were able to obtain this level. All Saiyans have the Oozaru ability, just not the Golden Oozaru ability.
