"If I Were a Baby"

cji
4/9/99

Verse 1
********

Now this is not what you think
that it is going to about
but for some there may be a link
so please don't at me shout!

Verse 2
********

If I were a baby chick
with my mother I'd stay
trying close to her to stick
wondering about all this hay.

Verse 3
********

I'd be small and very yellow,
but don't get the wrong idea now;
it wouldn't be that kind a fellow.
I'd be brave and strong somehow!

Verse 4
********

Now if I were a baby Poult
and I had to look for this one;
I'd just have to bite the bullet
because old Ben didn't win that one.

Verse 5
********

So I'd be scrawny and awkward to begin
but within a couple years time then,
you'd be looking for me to invite to dine in.
So I'm glad a turkey I wasn't to defend.

Verse 6
********

Instead I'm just one routine old babies;
that is able to wet and sleep and hug.
So when you thing of the possible maybes;
don't get mad when I mess on the rug.

Verse 7
*******

I'm so adorable for you to want to love
not just for a future egg or a meal.
But I've been sent here from above
to bring you lots of joy that is real.
