"The Touch of the Master"

C.J. Ingerson

"It is not often . . .
that one can feel
the touch of the Master,
day in and day out,
but your encouragement
and acknowledgment
of who we are
and where we've been
and what we've done
allows for this to happen.
Others may well never
understand the feelings,
but most of all my wife
understands this special touch,
so I've been privileged
to live with an angel,
and so my glimpses
of forever through her
are my greatest blessings
to share with others
of the Master's touch. . ."

"It would be . . .
a lonely day
and has been
when I've not
said hi to a friend,
or heard from one.
Friends are like flowers,
some come in need
of sunlight everyday,
while others store
and use reserves,
but it is pleasant to
feel the Master's touch,
just now and every time
a friend comes by
or just calls to say hello . . ."

"I think there . . .
are lots of us
who feel this way,
it is like a veil
being lifted from
our sense to feel.
Some just know,
and they know
we know of this,
maybe it is just
boldness or foolish,
but if we want
to live with again
with Father some day
we'd better really well
get to know him now.
He is our Father,
and wants not
to intimidate us,
for he loves us,
so why shouldn't
we love him,
it really is simple
for He has told us,
"If you love me,
keep my commandments."

"Man is that . . .
he might have joy."

Where is the fun
is worry and fretting
in not being bold,
going forth to meet
and challenge each day
to do our best to love
those who love us not?
All of the Prophets
have said often,
"We should be
the happiest people
in the world,
laugh, sing, dance,
do our duty
with a heart
full of song."

Page 5

With these kinds
of marching orders
who would ever
want to sit back
and watch life
or the parade,
when one could
be part of it?
Then to feel the
emotions of God
through the eyes
of a child?
No you don't need me
to tell you any of this
for we all have to account
to Father in full
for each and every day,
and we've been commanded
told in certain terms
we are that we
might have joy.
So when we meet
and spirits touch
this we knew before
would be so
when again we met,
for bothers love brothers
and sister love sisters
and we as children
of our Father have
all been commanded
to love one another . . ."

"Now into each life . . .
must come this knowledge
of how to recognize
the touch of the Master.
We must seek and search
the scriptures with intent
to understand and know
for ourselves what is true.
For with knowledge
has always come
accountability for ones self
and responsibility to act.
So think not of sacrifice
but think of obedience
for to feel the touch
of the Master requires much.
Going forth now to know
great things will you learn
for all we desire to know
James has said, we need but ask.
Lovely and warm feelings
now bring to a close
emotions to allow one to feel
the touch of the Master's hand . . ."
