"To be so Loved"

C.J. Ingerson
(with a little help)
3/3/99

Verse 1
********

You are so
kind and patient.
You truly have
many great burdens
that you have dealt with
and are still dealing with!

Verse 2
********

I feel so bad when
I murmur about
my silly little things
and yet when
I focus clearly
so I can put things
back into perspective
I am so ashamed
of adding to your burdens!

Verse 3
********

How ungrateful
and immature
I must seem
even when you feel
the need to chastise;
it is so kind, so gentle
I feel worse!

Verse 4
********

I know
when I need
a good talking to.

Verse 5
********

Thank you for your
kindness and understanding.
Thank you for your
gentleness and patience.

Verse 6
********

But most of all
thank you for loving me;
because I know that
without that everything
else is just a hollow shell.

Verse 7
********

Yet life is more than
a hollow shell
it is children
and women
and men

Verse 8
********

it is a fullness
to breathe and love
to live and to learn
and that is why
beyond anything's
we are spiritual beings
in a mortal probation

Verse 9
********

to see if we can really
remember what we've
been taught about
being kind to another
whether a sister or brother;

Verse 10
********

but most of all
if we can love unconditionally
all we meet along
lifes many paths
in a single day
or a lifetime full

Verse 11
********

it matters not
the space or time
but the measure
of the love
in your heart
or in mine.

Verse 12
********

So my friend
when you sing
your song today
remember there
are more than one
who in great regard
love you more than
you'll ever comprehend.

Verse 13
*******

So don't apologize
for being who you are
let us love you more
because we know
and it bothereth
us not at all
that we love you
for if you had
not faults
we be loving
someone who
just looks like you.
