"She Sits and Smiles"
cji 4/17/99

Verse 1
********

We asked and pleaded
for just one word;
anything she wanted
anything at all.

Verse 2
********

Finally and after prompting
She says, "Surprise me!"
And so it shall be today
To race around the world
In could of disarray to know;

Verse 3
********

Of all there is yet wanted
In contentment to understand
Of boys and horse,
Meat and potatoes
Ugly green vegetables
And short hairy dogs.

Verse 4
********

Racing still is a mind
Full of interesting clutter
To understand of man
In all its simplicity
And magnitude of strength.

Verse 5
*******

My life is full and fun
Yet I like to be surprised,
And knowing of the above
Would end the suspense
Of the surprises
Still in store for me.
