"The Absolute Joy"
C.J. Ingerson
3/6/99

Verse 1
*******

Each week with
a child's eagerness
I await the approach
of the Sabbath day.

Verse 2
********
To envision the rest
and the spiritual feast
with everyday folk
dressed in their
Sabbeth day best
to meet and discuss
our Lord and Savior
Jesus the Christ.
Verse 3
*******

Oh the joy transcends my being
to know of His love for me.
One of his servant's humbled
to be able to learn more
than I'm capable to retain
in this simple mind of mine.

Verse 4
********
The serendipity of it all.
I laugh and I cry at how
much I learn by stumbling,
in simple curiosity
the gospel discoveries;
how casually they enter
as though I've know
of them forever.
Verse 5
*******

Please don't ever deny me
the joy of the Sabbath day.
Even if it is
only in short doses.
I can sit in the foyer
the hymns to listen too.

Verse 6
********
This is not to make one sad
but to let the serendipity
of my life be prolonged
till each Sabbath day
is all the blessing
I'll ever ask.
