Charlie Davidson:

Bass Player

Hey, now that I've made myself look really special with the big bold heading, I'll tell        you who I am. Hello, my name is Charlie Davidson. I am a high school bass player from        Decatur, Georgia, USA, and I play standup and electric bass.

       Instruments:

Right now, I have two electric basses, one fretted imitation P-bass, and one relatively        nice fretless Fender Jazz Bass in black and white. The jazz is pretty sweet, but it sounds        horrible through my main amp. I have one practice amp that I use most because of its        weight. I try to avoid using it at any sort of gig, but sometimes I just can't get my big ol'        Peavey amp to wherever the gig may be. Anyway, when it comes down to a big gig, I can        get upper-medium tone with my good amp and my fretless.
On the other side of the room, I have my standup bass. It's a, probably between 20        and 50 year old bass (at this point it's stopped mattering how old it is). It's actually a quite        nice 3/4 upright with soft wood, a large body, and a deep, round sound. It's main flaw is in        the positioning of the sound post, which I will have readjusted ASAP. I also haven't put a        pickup yet, but I'm looking to getting a very nice one when I can find someone who wants        to sell me one. This bass gets great tone with a bow, and fat, but not excessively loud tone.        It's definitely my favorite.

     About me:

First of all, if you want to know about me as in, my height, my weight, my hair color, my favorite kind of food, my favorite Ben and Jerry flavor or any of that BS, go to my home page https://www.angelfire.com/ga/ccharlied/ and click on the "About CcharlieD" section. Alright, on to what you really want to know: How come a 16 year old thinks he's good enough to write a web page advertising himself? Well.... that's a good question, and I may not be able to answer that too easily, so I'll just avoid the subject for now.
My credentials: (I think that's what you call 'em) I sit first chair in the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the 99-00 Georgia All-State Orchestra. I also play standup and electric in quite a few informal metal, rock, blues, and jazz groups, and I'll jam with anybody who plays or sings. I also give lessons, only for beginners though, seeing that I'm still in high school and everything. I also play in the Druid Hills High School Orchestra. I have also been accepted to the Interlochen Music Camp. No full scholarship :-( but I did get in. I can't really think of too much else to brag about. Ok. You can look at the next section now.

How can you get in touch w/ me?

Wow, I'm suprised you made it to this section of the page. Sorry about all the rambling on, I'm a little keyboard-happy today. (I had a lot of coffee). Anyway, if you want to get in touch with me, send me an e-mail at CcharlieD1@aol.com, or send me an Instant Message at "Pubert404", or send me an ICQ thingy at # 25203619 (be forewarned: I don't check ICQ often). If you got this web page off a card of mine, my phone number and/or adress should be on there, and you should just go ahead and reach me through that. No offense all of you whom I haven't given cards, but I am very careful about meeting people through the internet. I don't like all this "technology" business they're putting together today. Well, please give me a ring, or mail, or e-mail. Thank you!
