I'd like to thank Silver for letting me post this wonderful story. She's a very talented writer and i wish you all the best of luck with your writing. *hugz*

Heather stared in the mirror assessing what she would be wearing for the first day of school.
“Don’t worry about it you’ll be fine!”
Heather quickly looked over at the window sill, “I thought I told you to leave me alone!”
She quickly shut her bedroom door so her parents wouldn’t walk by and wonder whom she was talking to. “I don’t want to talk or hear from you EVER again. Is that too hard for you to understand?”
She turned to see Ciaran, her maker and mentor, looking at her curiously.
Heather glanced away; he was almost too beautiful for words. Almost.
“Tsk, tsk!” Gracefully he lifted himself from his perch and walked towards Heather, “Is that any way to treat a long lost friend? I’ve done nothing but think about you, and this is how I am greeted.” Putting his hand over his chest he flashed a wicked smile at her.
Heather flinched, “Go away, I’m not going to ask aga…”
Ciaran moved lightening fast and grabbed Heather by her arms, “Don’t threaten me. I made you and I can unmake you! And you and I know you couldn’t do a damn thing to me. You’re so weak you didn’t even sense me in your room.” He pushed her away with a look of disgust on his face, “I’m going, but I will be back.”
With that he released Heather and walked to the window. As he opened the window he glanced back, “Ciao”.
As quick as a panther he was gone.
Heather began shaking as soon as he slipped out the window, Oh God, what now… was all Heather could think over and over again in her head.
Mulling the situation over in her head agitated to no end. She was startled by a sudden knocking on her door, “Heather dear, you had better hurry, you don’t want to be late.”
“Uh, okay mom! I’m finished. I’m going!” Heather listened as her mom walked down the stairs and out the front door. As soon as she heard the door close she grabbed her backpack and ran out and down the stairs, her only intent being the front door.
“Stop right their young lady!” Slurred a very familiar voice. “Where the hell d..do you think yah goin?”
Heather shivered inwardly, her stepfather “stood” before her. He was already drunk; it was only 6:45 in the morning.
“School”
“Yah sure, yah little bitch, I know what you’re up to! Yur going ta meet some guy aren’t yah?” Heather flinched away from his acrid smelling breath, “Damn you answer me!”
Her stepfather grabbed her arm and backhanded her hard. A look of alarm flashed across his bloated red face, “Get the hell out of here…”
Heather slumped against the door and looked at him through her hair. She could feel the change over coming her. No I won’t kill him no matter how much I want to! She wrenched the door open and ran.

Reed walked as quickly as possible. He knew that he should have taken his bike but now he was regretting his decision not to he was going to be late. And there was no way he was going to be late for school. No way…
As he turned the corner a small dark hared girl slammed into him.
“Oh God I’m…sorry. Sorry.” She quickly looked up at Reed and stepped back, he could see that her eyes were silver. Was she? No way! She couldn’t be!
A look of absolute horror registered on her elfin face. Faster than any normal person could she sprinted away tears streaming down her face. But not before he noticed the bruise on her face.
“HEATHER WAIT!” A rather obese man stood at the beginning of the path the girl had run down, Reed stared at him curiously, “What are you looking at punk?”
Reed grinned wickedly.

“Not again! I’m telling you Heather, you need to turn that bastard in!” Tina puffed on her cigarette as if it was going out of style, “My dad has never laid one hand on me!”
“For one thing he’s not my ‘dad’ he’s my step, and secondly I have to think of my mother. It would devastate her! She doesn’t even know he’s started drinking again.” Or she didn’t want to see it, Heather thought to herself. “Any ways it’s already going away, no problem, see.”
Tina closely scrutinized her face, “Yah you’re right, but that still does not give him any right.” She stopped after the look she received from her bestfriend. “I just worry about you. I love you, yah know that right, you’re my bestfriend and I don’t want anything to happen to you. I’m always going to be here and I’m only trying to help not get you hurt. Please trust me.”
Heather lost the stern look instantly on her face and hugged Tina tightly to her. I know, but I don’t know if I’ll not hurt you. She pulled away slightly, “I trust you.”
First bell rang and the girls jumped from the loud clanging.
“Time to get going.” Heather said grabbing her bag, in the hall the girls smiled and started walking in opposite directions. Heather’s first class of the day was math, ugh, Mrs. Krackmyer! Sometimes Heather figured she must be some kind of evil creature! Heather giggled at the idea of Mrs. K being a vampire or maybe even a witch.
Heather entered the classroom beaming, as math was one of her easier subjects.
Just as she took her seat the last bell rang, just in time, she sat back and watched time quickly go by.

By the time lunchtime rolled around Heather was exhausted.
“Hey there girl, you look way to pale. Are you okay?” Tina looked at her, a motherly expression coming over her face. “Let me feel your forehead…”
“NO”, Heather replied a little to quickly, “Really I’m okay. Don’t worry about me, you know me I probably just need to eat something. I’ll be right back, I’m gonna grab something from the lunch line.” Standing she walked the short distance to the vending machine. Yuck. Nothing appealed to her. Popping some change into the machine she bought some beef jerky. Yummy.
Ripping open the bag Heather pulled out a small piece of the jerky. Popping it into her mouth she grimaced at the chewiness of it. YUCK!
Heather stopped to spit the jerky in the trashcan. Looking up she saw the guy she had run into outside of her house this morning.
Oh my God! What is he doing here?
“It was horrible! I can’t believe how one person could just go on and on like that in a history class putting almost everyone asleep! It was hilarious, I couldn’t help but laughing. He asked what was so funny and I almost corre….”
“Heather, ohmygosh, this is Reed!” Tina beamed up at Heather and immediately turned back to Reed, “We have a movie appreciation class together.”
Heather glared at Reed showing just how unhappy she was that he was here. Talking to her bestfriend! What if he started telling everyone about what he had seen this morning! The whole school would find out what she was. Who knew what they would do.
“I wouldn’t dream of it.” Reed admonished as if reading her thoughts. Heather started shocked at what he said.
“Excuse me?” Heather squeaked at him. “ I have to go Tina, I have to get to drama. I want a good seat up front. Here,” She tossed the beef jerky in Tina’s lap, ”I’m not so hungry any more. Nice meeting you.” Heather drawled out rather coldly.
“Heather wait!” She looked at her friends back with a confused look on her face, “I’m sorry, Reed, I’ve never seen her act like this.”
Heather could here the bewilderment in Tina’s voice and flinched at it. Damn him!

Heather sat in the back of the drama room closing her eyes it had felt like years since she had had a good nights sleep. Her eyelids felt as if they weighed a thousand pounds so that she could barely keep them open. With out even realizing it she fell asleep.
Dreaming was so easy Heather thought, she could make what ever she wanted happen, happen. Looking around she could see that she was in a dense forest, large green trees every where! It was beautiful. Listening very carefully she could hear the sound of a bubbling stream. Smiling she ran forward towards the sound.
Before her was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen in her life. Lush green bushes grassy knolls next to the water. The water slowly trickled by, it looked too good of an opportunity to pass up. Stripping completely she climbed down into the water. Now if only….
“Here let me.” A very masculine voice told her, a tingle ran down her spine. “I know how it is to try and reach those hard to get spots.” Heather turned her head and there stood Reed looking down at the top of her head. “Uh Reed I’m sorry I was such a bitch.” Blushing she looked away, “I mean I’m not normally like I was. And even though this is a dream I still feel better knowing I’m trying to make amends.”
She jumped when she felt his soapy hands start washing her back.
“It’s okay, I’m used to it. Why are you so tense?” He began rubbing his hands over her shoulders he began massaging her.
“That feels good.”

Her whole body relaxed under the pressure of his hands. She liked this dream world so much more than her normal world. A slight breeze swept across the water causing goose bumps to rise on her skin. But something inside her quelled, she didn’t feel safe anymore.
RUN
It was as if someone had spoken it to her but only in her mind, looking around she saw Ciaran standing at the edge of the clearing staring at her, a look of amusement on his face. “Well, well, well. So this is what you do in your spare time? Amusing, and who is the new play toy?”
Heather smiled wickedly at him, “What’s wrong? Upset that you disgust me so much I don’t have fantasies about you?”
Moving lightening fast he grabbed her throat. Her eyes widened in terror. He wasn't apart of her dream, he was real. Ciaran laughed viciously at her. “You we're always really good at pissing me off. Always had to be the little bitch! Complain, complain! In fact you never thanked me for the gift that I gave you.”
Heather snorted, “Gift? You cursed me you bastard, I never asked for this! I never wanted to be like you at all! I wouldn't even ask to be in the same gene pool as you. Ugh..”
Ciaran squeezed her neck tighter.
“Tsk, tsk. That’s no way to talk to the one who loves you. Why don’t you get lost loser.” Ciaran waved his hand at Reed. With a puff of smoke he disappeared, “I’ve always wanted to do that!”
Heather snorted, “Always one to flaunt what you don’t have weren’t you?”
His eyes changed color rapidly, his face contorted into a hideous mask of fury. “You stupid, stupid bitch! I could kill you right now dream or not! And yet you still taunt me, you want to die don’t you?” Ciarans incisors began growing, the length of them astonishing Heather. “Well my dear I will give you what you want.”
