But then, with the arrival of Sin, Tidus finds himself in the foreign world of Spira, a place where his home – Zanarkand – has been gone for a thousand years. He falls in with a group of guardians and the summoner – young Lady Yuna – whom they are guarding, changing their lives – and his – forever… especially when Tidus starts to fall for summoner Yuna.

A mysterious man who watched over orphaned Tidus when the latter was a child, but, curiously enough, also served as the guardian to Yuna’s father Lord Braska, who died defeating Sin ten years ago. Always gruff and cold, with little tolerance for folly, Auron’s great strength and wisdom makes him an invaluable asset as a guardian, and he carries with him a large Blade – and dark secrets of the past.

Rikku

A sweet, hyper, eager young girl who’s tougher – and less naïve – than she sometimes makes out to be. Rikku’s an Al Bhed – a race of people generally disliked amongst Spira for their irreligiousness – but her kindness, and devotion to being the guardian of her cousin Yuna endears her to the party, forcing them to see beyond their prejudices. She’s not afraid to say exactly what she thinks, nor is she afraid to stand up for herself.

Kimahri

An outcast member of the Ronso tribe, Kimahri is the devoted guardian of Lady Yuna – having protected the girl since her father died. The horn on his forehead was sawn off in a quarrel with another Ronso when Kimahri came of age, and he fled his home of Mt. Gagazet. Like other Ronso, Kimahri is strong, fierce and fearless, ready to die a warrior’s death to protect his beloved Lady Yuna.
