Currently Listening to: Fade to Black - Apocalyptica

I know I should be sleeping, but I was so touched by an email I got today.

To those whom I've told (or not), last Sunday I had a great ebay experience. I simply saw an offer I couldn't refuse. Academy Award Winning Spirited Away (Collector's Edition) plus 13 other Ghilbi Movies - ALL on DVDS!!!!

Of course I was stoked... who wouldn't? Well, I bid on it. 50 bucks. Expensive? Not really once you consider it's 8 LEGIT DVDS with really really really good movies on them. Well, immediately I could see why so many people go on ebay. This whole bidding stuff is REALLY REALLY FUN. Even I had a blast and I had no idea what I'm doing. Anyway, after bidding with 15 minutes left of the auction, I couldn't stop shivering. You know that feeling you get when you have butterflies in the stomach? Times that by 10. I was so excited over such an offer that I couldn't do anything else, except sit there and hit the refresh button every 10 seconds, thinking that if I kept careful watch on my item, I will win it.

And for 14 minutes and 30 seconds, it worked. Sure as rain (well, not in So Cal), I was on top for that whole excruciating 14 minutes and 30 seconds, just enough time until some smart-ass outbid me with 51 dollars. By the time it took me to bid, I was too late. My catch was lost! Alas! Alas!

Was I mad? Yea. My first ebay auction - a failure! (stop snickering Joanne) Pissed, I looked at the guy who was giving the auction. Looking at the page closely, I found that he has a TON of options going at one time. Looking in his auction list, I discovered that he has another of the same deal up for sale... and it has 6 Days left!!! EVen BETTER - there was a "buy it now!" option.

Of coursed I was stoked. Who wouldn't be?

But wait... even better. The "buy it now" price was 49.99!!!. Immediately I burst into peels of laughter. Even though I lost the auction, in the end I still one, because I paid a penny less than what I normally bid, and a dollar AND a penny less than the smart-ass who outbid me in the last second. LMAO. Good stuff. So I paid immediately... after begging Joanne to let me use her credit card (it wasn't a pretty sight - she threw socks at me), and that was that....

...until...

... some unfortunate news came up. Apparently, because Spirited Away won the Academy Awards, they ran out of stock. I was PISSED... AGAIN (dude, I'm like more emotionally unstable than a woman going through her period). Until, I actually read the actual email:

Hi! I have an update on your order!

I have some unfortunate news - Unfortunately, due to the increased demand due to Spirited Away winning the Oscar for Best Animated Picture, there is a shortage of stock on that DVD.

The estimated time of arrival on Spirited Away is 1-2 weeks.

We DO have all the 6 disc Studio Ghibli Archives IN STOCK and ready to go at the end of this week.

Belive me, I am VERY sorry about the inconvenience caused. I know it is inexcusable, but I do hope you understand where I am coming from here... I'll try to be as helpful as possible, in hopes that you understand the predicament. Here are some options I have thought of:

a) I can send you the Studio Ghibli Archives this week, and send Spirited Away as soon as it arrives. The second shipping charge is my treat, of course. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy all the Studio Ghibli classics :)

b) If you don't mind waiting for everything, I can send them both together when Spirited Away arrives. If you do this, I will give you a $5 Paypal payment for the trouble caused.

c) If you really cannot wait up to 2 weeks for Spirited Away to arrive, I can give you a full refund on everything, along with my deepest apologies.

If you have any other ideas for solutions, please feel free to give me suggestions.

Thanks for understanding; please accept my apologies once again.

Sincerely,

Carl Nelson

What can you say after that? This was the most considerate thing ever - a good way to make business. It was totally cool with me - since I'm supposed to be studying and all, so I picked the first option (if each shipping cost is 15 bucks, if I ask for him to ship twice then he loses more money, as compared to him loosing 5 bucks for shipping it once. Right? Business =)). Of course, I put it in a nice way. I just can't get over how nice this person was. I'm going to give him the highest ratings ever....

Well, that's all for my ebay story right now. TO BE CONTINUED.... (?)

BTW, the tracks I'm listening to (scroll up to see what it is) is absolutely awesome. Shout-out to Ben at ASU for introducing me to them! What they did for this particular album, is that they took rock songs, and adapted them onto 4 cellos - really really cool.

Currently Listening to: Educated Guess - MxPx

New quarter, new classes, new start! Let's bring it(even though I did better than I hoped for in History 1B given that I nearly flunked the final)!! This quarter I'm drastically increasing my workload, with four classes and a Fiat Lux Seminar: English 10A - English Literature up to 1660, Music History 8 - History of Electronic Music (with the snickering and sneering from Joanne), Earth and Space Sciences 15 - Introduction to Oceanography, and Atmopheric Science 1 - Climate Change. Oh yea, AM I taking the plunge... two science classes! Eek!! But let's bring it, I want to dump all my science breadth this quarter so I can concentrate on my fuzziness as a humanities major.

Spring Break... was a mixed result. On one hand, it was really fun and on the other hand it sucked ass. Yet, much to my dismay, I found out I failed as a slacker. I couldn't even fulfill my spring break itenery... how pathetic. Instead of reading a lot, at most I could do is finish "Proof," "Arcadia," and only half of "Devil in a Blue Dress." I highly recommend "Arcadia," just in case you have time to kill. Anime... haha let's not go there. I didn't watch anything. Like one episode of X TV, and "My Neighbors the Yamadas" (review in Anime section!). Then what in the world did I spend most of my time doing? Diablo II!!! (old skool) and Model!!! MWAHAHAHA!!! Needless to say, my "l33t" model "roxors" (Eugene is going to shoot me for using all these hacker terms). It looks nice... if you stand 5 feet away in a dimmly lit room... being drunk would help to. Well truthfully, it's pretty bad, but it was my first attempt painting and it was hard stuff since I don't have the patience (which is why you'll never catch Stan doing puzzles). I was so proud when I finished... and then I forgot it at home! (baka! baka! baka!) I guess I'll have to show it to you all later... and upload the pics this weekend for Ben to look at and says it sucks.

Visiting VPHS was great. Congrats on the seniors who got into UCLA!!! And to those who didn't... throw a nice juicy tomato at Mrs. Hayes for screwing up your online UC applications (says so Mooney). At school I visited Mr. Hunt, Barrett, and Mooney. In Barrett's class, nothing much happened, except Barrett was his perverted self (quick aside ppl, are ALL male teachers pediphiles? Steve Park thinks so and therefore thinks I am because I am considering the teaching perfection... it totally does not work that way... eeeewwww). Surprisingly though, after visiting Hunt I realized how much bs he was. I mean, I actually had a logical conversation with Mooney, but it isn't so with Hunt. After bashing UCLA (in revenge for my LOVELY flyer =), he started giving me bull how the war is logical and stuff. When I asked him why the US intelligence that claimed to find satellite photos of arsenals of weapons of mass destruction didn't give hand their findings over to the UN so that we may have a stronger global backing, Hunt quickly changed the topic and said how smart the Iraqis are because they bury their buildings in sand to avoid satellite photos. Um... contradiction there? Haha. But anyway, that doesn't lower my respect for Hunt at all. He's still a great teacher and I learned a lot in his class. For you former lunchtime Hearts Players, it's now a permanent group playing with Hunt: John Ikeda, David Nguyen, and a kid named Albert playing with Hunt. They even kept a packet of scores... LOL. And somebody DEFINITELY needs to take David away, he speaks so much like Hunt it's scary. Though I loved the BSing between Hunt and me/USC vs UCLA/Science vs Humanities, I really enjoyed my conversation with Mooney. She's really fun to talk to, outside of class. Haha! I even told her I didn't like Pride and Prejudice (one for the guys) and I think she took it well (I THINK). After a brief discussion about Dickens, we started to talk about Mr. Hunt's kid and started to bet that his son is going to be a major Liberal Poet. If that's the case, Hunt swears he will start digging his son's grave, which I found hilarious.

OH yea, did you notice the DDR .gif file I put on the index? Yea, I bet if I play like that, I would definitely do better than how I did at Tiphany's house. How bad was I? Well, I was out DDR'd by GREG. 'Nuff said.

How did my break suck... nah, I don't want to go there. Thinking about the good times made me really happy, so let's not go there, k?

Well, that's about it I guess, I don't want to bore ppl with EVERY detail about my spring break - that sounds... narcisstic (whoops, maybe it's too late - but hey, you're reading this so it's your own fault =) Maybe if I want to add some more junk I'll do so, but I'm on webpage update mode so I'll do it later.
