This is the basic information about sluagh, adapted from the Changeling Core Book, Second Edition.
Appearance: pale and “grotesque.” They have no teeth and small, sunken eyes, and an odor of decay. Sluagh favor old clothing, usually black and complex.
Lifestyle: sluagh hate to be disturbed and keep very private lives, which manifests itself in where they choose to live. Civilized sluagh may have an antique shop, an abandoned museum, or an old mansion. Moving down the ladder are those who dwell in mausoleums, attics, sewers, and crawlspaces. They are very territorial and have complex rules of etiquette that baffle other kiths.
-Childlings: freakish little street urchins. They are disheveled and dirty, yet sympathetic. If something disgusts or frightens a human child, a sluagh child will love and adore it. They have a knack for getting into hidden or off-limits places.
-Wilders: paler than childlings, with jet black hair. They begin to look less human than their little brothers and sisters, with hollow eyes and cheeks and elongated limbs.
-Grumps: grumps age very quickly. Their skin hangs, their hair goes white and grey, and their limbs contort (moreso than usual). As the core book notes, they seem to enjoy this.
Affinity: prop.
Birthrights and Frailties (taken directly from the core book)
Squirm: dislocating body parts is a popular amusement for these desiccated creatures. Confining them is almost impossible. Although they cannot change their shape or mass, underfolk can contort into disquieting shapes with unnatural ease. This requires a few minutes of entertainment and a roll of Dexterity + Athletics. The only substance that can completely imprison them is cold iron. A sluagh cannot use this Birthright in the presence of mortals or the unenchanted.
Sharpened Senses: the unusual upbringing of these fae heightens their senses. Subtract two from any Perception roll a sluagh makes (to a minimum of 3). They may see through illusory magic by making a roll of Perception + Alertness (difficulty 7). This Birthright always functions normally. It is impossible for sluagh to botch Stealth or Alertness rolls.
Curse of Silence: sluagh cannot speak above a whisper, no matter how hard they strain to be heard. Since they dislike social situations and hold to very odd rules of etiquette, add two to the difficulty of all their social rolls.
Perversity is the hallmark of a sluagh. They are very formal and exceedingly polite creatures, and they have a great love of information and secrets. They are also partial to broken things, toys, and bits of junk and place great value on these items. Their culture is hugely self-contained, and they hold deep respect for each other. Many rumors exist about the sluagh… sluagh eat babies, sluagh have orgies, there are secret sluagh rituals, etcetera. Very few of these rumors are true, but sluagh don’t seem to mind (and sometimes encourage) this gossip.
