Rules for Matches in Oshenna

Please note that these rules are for dice matches. Sim rules differ, please see the Sim Charter on the UV Web Site for guidelines. Umbra Victus.

Spars and Mass Spars
We follow forum rules for these, proctor calls terms, whether specials and power strikes are allowed for mortals, etc. Please see the Umbra Victus combat charter for more information on these different issues. A major difference is this though, we allow Oshennan enhancers to be used in our spars. It is up to the proctor if enhancers are allowed in mass spars, the proc may allow or disallow enhancers. Our dice for all spars and mass spars are d75 (2d mortals, 3d halfies and 4d supernaturals).

Honor Matches
See forum rules for an honor match. Since we are not getting xp for this, and it is merely for part of the storyline that an honor match is taking place, the proctor does not have to have a UV proctor reg, but it's recommended, because that means that they (usually) know what they are doing. Again, you may use your Oshennan enhancers, and your dice are d75.

Death Matches
Same as for honor matches, see forum rules, and a UV regged proc is not needed, but it is recommended. YOU MUST HAVE PERMISSION OF THE QUEEN before you may compete in a DM with anyone. Because, there must be a good reason you are going to kill another member of our kingdom, and cannot solve it any other way.

Slave Matches/Release Matches
Not Allowed in Oshenna. Slavery in any form is banned.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other types of Matches from the UV Charters. Please note that these are not all the entertainments that you can participate in. On the "Entertainment" Charter on the UV Portal, you can find Billiards, Mud Wrestling, Poker, and other things. On the "Children" Charter you can find King of the Mountain, which can be made into an adult game very easily with some imagination.
Archery
Any number of people may participate in an archery match. If only two, then 1d6 is rolled for initial. If more than 2, then 1d100 is rolled for order. Minimum of 3 rounds and a maximum of 7 rounds are taken, adjust according to the amount of participants. This should be stated in the rules at the beginning. All use 1d10, and the scoring is as follows:
1 - Bullseye! - 20 points
2-3 - First Ring - 15 points
4-6 - Second Ring - 10 points
7-9 - Third Ring - 5 points
10 - Miss - 0 points
Jousting
A joust is between two people on any type of beast they wish. Using a pole, they try to unseat the other first. As soon as one combatant is unseated, the joust is over, and the remaining seated one is the winner.  No enhancers are to be used. Initial is 1d6 as normal, high roll gets first hit. There are 7 rounds (if none is unseated) and both combatants use 1d10.
Scoring is as follows:
1 - Unseated! - 20 points
2-3 - Disabling Strength Hit - 15 points
4-6 - Direct Hit - 10 points
7-9 - Not much harm done - 5 points
10 - Miss - 0 points
Races
Racing in UV can be done several different ways, and it must be stated what sort of race it is at the beginning of the log. You may have ground races, water (swimming) races or flying races. The races may be on animals, done by an animal owned by you (such as dog racing), or done by you yourself (such as foot races).
There are a number of possibilities for races, these are recognized in UV at this time. If you wish to add a race, please send your petition to (slowselah).
    Horse Racing (or any other mounted animal race, ground, flying or swimming)
    Animal Racing (dog races, turtle races, etc)
    Canoe Races
    Foot Races
    Ice Skating Races
    Swimming Races
This is how you race:
Everyone is at the starting line, and when the racers are told to go, then everyone rolls 2d25. Their dice indicates the number of furlongs they have gone. All races go to 10 furlongs unless in a tournament it is specified otherwise. (A furlong is 220 yards).
1 = 0 - You didn't make it off the starting line, or didn't make it any distance
2-10 = 1 furlong
11-19= 2 furlongs
20-24= 3 furlongs
25= 4 furlongs
The proctor adds up how many furlongs everyone went, and states it, then everyone rolls again. Proctor states again how many furlongs the racers have gone, and the first person to reach 10 furlongs is the winner.
Betting on whom will win is allowed, but must be handled privately. It must be taken care of before the race begins, before the first roll is made, by those watching.
The racers may make a winner's pool, handled by the proctor before they participate. The proctor decides on an amount of gold and each participant must pay the amount to be in the race. The winner receives all the gold pool that was put into the race by all the racers.
Drinking Contest
Here is a little drinking game for fun that is done by using dice.
This starts off with everyone stating their race (mortal, halfling or immortal). This will determine the tolerance rate (like hit points) which will be 10 - mortals, 15 - halfling, 20 - immortals.
After the race has been stated, the bartender (proctor) will then put a shot in front of everyone.
They are then to drink it down.
After drinking it down they are to roll a 2d20. (Dice scoring/hits are the same as in spars, so you can use a dice bot). That score is added to them, just like in a spar/MS.
Once they reach their tolerance points they pass out drunk and lose the game.
That is not the only way to lose, if they roll doubles, they pass out and lose the game.
If they roll a 1, they then puke and get 2 points taken away from their tolerance points.
Bet and Brawl
This is where up to 5 members enter the arena and go head to head against one another (like an MS).
Members not in the brawl are allow to place bets on who their favorite in the match will be.
Set Dice can be used to make it fair all around.
The proctor has say in what is allowed and not allowed in the match. But no enhancers!
The monies bet are placed in a pool, then divided up to the ones that picked the winner of the match.
The Proctor hands the money of the betting.
There is a 250 gps entry fee (Maj-this can be set at anything we desire).  The fees are grouped together and in the end, the total is the amount that the winner will receive.
Bowling/Ten Pins
With bowling there are 10 rounds and the object of the game is to roll the ball towards the pins to knock them over. The one with the most pins at the end of the ten rounds is the winner. The max points you can have is 100 if you bowl a perfect game. There are two ways to play this game, you can play with buffers for beginners where the dice break down is different than if there are no buffers.
You roll 1d12 for bowling without buffers. This is how it breaks down:
1-2 You missed all the pins
  3 you got one pin
  4 you got two pins
  5 you got three pins
  6 you got four pins
  7 you got five pins
  8 you got six pins
  9 you got seven pins
  10 you got eight pins
  11 you got nine pins
  12 you got all ten pins
For buffers you roll 1d10. The break down with buffers:
1 you got one pin
2 you got two pins
3 you got three pins
4 you got four pins
5 you got five pins
6 you got six pins
7 you got seven pins
8 you got eight pins
8 you got nine pins
10 you got all ten pins
