Homemade Strawberry Smoothie

Lil S. sent this wonderful recipe. My daughter and I have been enjoying smoothies lately. While we've been going to Planet Smoothie and Smoothie King, homemade is darn good (especially since I like using my Vitamix blender - my uncle sold them when I was very young. I was imprinted and personal ownership was just a matter of time).

 

STRAWBERRY FROSTY

Healthy and delightful drink

 

2 cups strawberries, sliced

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup pineapple juice

1 cup crushed ice

 

Sprinkle berries with sugar. Place in blender or food processor with yogurt and pineapple juice. Blend well. Add 1 cup crushed ice. Blend. Makes two generous frosty drinks.

Groaner

I get many jokes and could make a blog entirely of jokes (I did put a page of spoken jokes from Chuck Bobo online). This one came from Jennifer C.

 

A thief in Paris planned to steal some paintings from the Louvre.

After carefully planning, he got past security, stole the paintings and made it safely to his van.

However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas.

When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied: "Monsieur, I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."

(And you thought I lacked De Gaulle to post a story like this.)

Find Matching Colors

I've been to many web page color picker pages - where you give them one color and they show the complementary matching shades. EasyRGB offers more choices than most. I changed the color of the tables in the previous message below to better match the background here. Does it look like a better match?

Look out this coming June, as we have  06:06:06 06/06/06  coming (six minutes after six and six seconds on June 6 of this year).

Catster.com and Dogster.com

Catster.com and its associated site, Dogster.com, host web pages for pets -- these look like a lot of fun and easy to make. These are adorable -- for example, check out Mercedes the Cat. It's almost like MySpace but for pets.

As the birth of my first and only granchild approaches, I made a web page for him at BamaBaby.com. I like making casual, just-for-fun family pages, as if nobody could guess that by now.

Happy April Fool's Day

Today we plant Pam's Purple Peruvian Potatoes  - no joke. They are so unique that today is perfect for planting them. Thanks to Pam from Southern Blog for sending these little treasures. I can't wait to eat purple potatoes. (Here's a picture from Google images.)
