The Third Book Of Revelations
Chapters 15-22
The book of Revelations is the prophetical book of the future according to the Bible. The book of Revelation is given to
the apostle John on the Island of Patmos. He was banashed there for the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. It is
uncertain when he was banashed but it is thought to be about AD
96. There are 22 chapters in this prophetic book. I have set up
a link that will take you back to the first set of chapters so
you do not have to go all the way to the bottom just to go back
to the beginning. Nor do you have to hit the back browser button.
Have fun on my Revelations Page and if there are any questions
or prayer request, please feel free to sign my guestbook. Thank
you and may God bless you..

[Revelations 22:1-21]
Chapter 15
F. The Seven Bowls of Wrath
1.Preliminary Vision in Heaven
Vs.1: Then I saw another portent in heaven, great and wonderful,
seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is ended.
Vs.2: And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with
fire, and those who had conquered the beast and it's image and
the number of it's name, standing beside the sea of glass with
harps of God in their hands.
Vs.3: And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,"Great and wonderful are thy deeds,
O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are thy ways, O King of
the ages!
Vs.4: Who shall not fear and glorify thy name, O Lord? For thou
alone art holy. All nations shall come and worship thee, for thy
judgments have been revealed."
Vs.5: After this I looked, and the temple of the tent of witness
in heaven was opened,
Vs.6: and out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven
plagues, robed in pure bright linen, and their breasts girded with golden girdles.
Vs.7: And one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels
seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives for ever and ever;
Vs.8: and the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God
and from his power, and no one could enter the temple until the
seven plagues of the seven angels were ended.
Chapter 16
Vs.1: Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven
angels,"Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath
of God."
2. The First Bowl: Sores on Men
Vs.2: So the first angel went and poured his bowl on the earth, and foul and evil sores came upon the men who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped it's image.
3. The Second Bowl: The Sea Becomes blood
Vs.3: The second angel poured his bowl into the sea, and it bacame like the blood of a dead man, and every living thing died
that was in the sea.
4. The Third Bowl: Rivers and Fountains Become Blood
Vs.4: The third angel poured his bowl into the rivers and the fou
ntains of water, and they became blood.
Vs.5: And I heard the angel of water say,"Just art thou in these
thy judgments, thou who art and wast, O Holy One.
Vs.6 For men have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou
hast given them blood to drink. It is their due!"
Vs.7: And I heard the altar cry,"Yea, Lord God the Almighty, true
and just are thy judgments!"
5. The Fourth Bowl: Fierce Heat of the Sun
Vs.8: The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun, and it was all
owed to scorch men with fire;
Vs.9: men were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the
name of God who had power over these plagues, and they did not re
pent and give him glory.
6. The Fifth Bowl: Darkness
Vs.10: The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast
,and it's kingdom was in darkness; men gnawed their tongues in
anguish
Vs.11: and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores, and
did not repent of their deeds.
7. The Sixth Bowl: The Foul Spirits Prepare For
Armageddon.
Vs.12: The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrat
es, and it's water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings
from the east.
Vs.13: And I saw, issuing from the mouth of the dragon and from
the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet,
three foul spirits like frogs;
Vs.14: for they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go
abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.
Vs.15:(Lo, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is he who is awake,
keeping his garments that he may not go naked and be seen exposed
!")
Vs.16: And they assembled them at the place which is called in
Hebrew Armaged'don.
8. The Seventh Bowl: The Earthquake
Vs.17: The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air, and a great voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying," It
is done!"
Vs.18: And there were flashes of lightning, loud noises, peals of
thunder, and a great earthquake such as had never been since men
were on the earth, so great was that earthquake.
Vs.19: The great city was split into three parts, and the cities
of the nations fell, and God remembered great Babylon, to make her drain the cup of the fury of his wrath.
Vs.20: And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found;
Vs.21: and great hailstones, heavy as a hundredweight, dropped
on men from heaven, till men cursed God for the plague of the
hail, so fearful was that plague.
Chapter 17
1.The Great Harlot
Vs.1: Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came
and said to me,"Come, I will show you the judgment of the great
harlot who is seated upon many waters,
Vs.2: with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication
,and with the wine of whose fornication the dwellers on the earth
have become drunk."
Vs.3: And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and
I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of blasph
emous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns.
Vs.4: The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and bedecked
with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup
full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication;
Vs.5: and on her forehead was written a name of mystery:"Babylon
the great, mother of harlots and of earth's abominations."
Vs.6: And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and
the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her I marveled greatly.
2. The Mystery of the Harlot and the Beast Explained
Vs.7: But the angel said to me,"Why marvel? I will tell you the
mystery of the woman, and the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.
Vs.8: The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to perdition; and the dwellers on
earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from
the foundation of the world, will marvel to behold the beast; because it was and is not and is to come.
Vs.9: This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven hills on which the woman is seated;
Vs.10: they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he comes he must remain
only a little while.
Vs.11: As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but
it belongs to the seven, and it goes to perdition.
Vs.12: And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not
yet received royal power, but they are to reveive authority as
kings for one hour, together with the beast.
Vs.13: These are of one mind and give over their power, and authority to the beast;
Vs.14: they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer
them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with
him are called and chosen and faithful."
Vs.15: And he said to me," The waters that you saw, where the
harlot is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues.
Vs.16: And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the harlot; they will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire,
Vs.17: for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and giving over their royal power to
the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Vs.18: And the woman that you saw is the great city which has dominion over the kings of the earth."
Chapter 18
3.The Doom of Babylon Announced
Vs.1: And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Vs.2: And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Vs.3: For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4. The Call To Come out of Babylon
Vs.4: And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Vs.5: For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
Vs.6: Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
Vs.7: How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Vs.8: Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.
5. The Lament of the World over Babylon
Vs.9: And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
Vs.10: Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Vs.11: And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
Vs.12: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
Vs.13: And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
Vs.14: And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
Vs.15: The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
Vs.16: And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
Vs.17: For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
Vs.18: And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like unto this great city!
Vs.19: And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
6. Heaven's Rejoicing over Babylon's fall
Vs.20: Rejoice over her, [thou] heaven, and [ye] holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
7. Babylon's Doom Symbolically Portrayed
Vs.21: And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
Vs.22: And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft [he be], shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
Vs.23: And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Vs.24: And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Chapter 19
8.Praise to God for Judgment: the marriage supper of
the Lamb
Vs.1: And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
Vs.2: For true and righteous [are] his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
vs.3: And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
Vs.4: And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
Vs.5: And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
Vs.6: And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Vs.7: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Vs.8: And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Vs.9: And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
H. The Defeat of the Beast and the False Prophet
Vs.10: And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Vs.11: And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Vs.12: His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Vs.13: And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Vs.14: And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Vs.15: And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Vs.16: And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Vs.17: And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Vs.18: That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great.
Vs.19: And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Vs.20: And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Vs.21: And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Chapter 20
I. The Binding of Satan
Vs.1: And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Vs.2: And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Vs.3: And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
J. The Millennial Reign of Christ
Vs.4: Then I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Vs.5: But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.
Vs.6: Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
K. The Loosing of Satan
Vs.7: And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Vs.8: And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.
Vs.9: And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Vs.10: And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
L. The Great White Throne Judgment
Vs.11: And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Vs.12: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Vs.13: And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Vs.14: And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Vs.15: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Chapter 21
M. The New Heaven and New Earth
Vs.1:And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Vs.2: And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Vs.3: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.
Vs.4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Vs.5: And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Vs.6: And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Vs.7: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Vs.8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
N. The New Jerusalem
1.The City
Vs.9: And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Vs.10: And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Vs.11: Having the glory of God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
Vs.12: And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
Vs.13: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
Vs.14: And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
2.
It's Measurements
Vs.15: And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
Vs.16: And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
Vs.17: And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred [and] forty [and] four cubits, [according to] the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
Vs.18: And the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass.
Vs.19: And the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation [was] jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a
chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
Vs.20: The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
Vs.21: And the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city [was] pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
3. It's Light
Vs.22: And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
Vs.23: And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof.
Vs.24: And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Vs.25: And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
Vs.26: And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
Vs.27: And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
