The Book Of Revelations
Chapters 1-7
The book of Revelations is the prophetical book of the future according to the Bible. The book of Revelation is given to
the apostle John on the Island of Patmos. He was banashed there for the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. It is
uncertain when he was banashed but it is thought to be about AD 96. There are 22 chapters in this prophetic book. I have set up
a link so that you can go to what ever set of chapters you wish to read and not have to go in order. If you have any questions or
prayer request please feel free to sign my guestbook. May God bless you.
[The Second Book of Ravelation
Chapters 8-14]
Chapter One
Vs.1: The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Vs.2: Who bare record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
Vs.3: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Vs.4: John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his
throne;
Vs.5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
Vs.6: And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Vs.7: Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Vs.8: (I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,) saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to
come, the
Almighty.
Vs.9: I John, who also am your brother, and companion in the tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was
in the Isle that is called Patmos, for the Word of God, and for
the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Vs.10: I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Vs.11: Saying (I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:) and (What thou seest, write in a book and send it unto the
seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna,
and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto
Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.)
Vs.12: And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
Vs.13: And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
Vs.14: His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Vs.15: And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
Vs.16: And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his
mouth went a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Vs.17: And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto
me, (Fear not; I am the first and the last:)
Vs.18 (I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.)
Vs.19: (Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;)
Vs.20: (The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven
candel-sticks
which thou sawest are the seven churches.
Chapter Two
1.
The First Church
Vs.1: (Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
Vs.2: I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
Vs.3: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
Vs.4: Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Vs.5: Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his
place, except thou repent.
Vs.6: But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also
hate. (Let it be known here, that Christ is not saying he hates the people of the Nicolaitanes, but he hates their deeds.)
Vs.7: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
2. The Second Church
Vs.8: And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Vs.9: I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Vs.10: Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Vs.11: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the
second death.
3. The Third Church
Vs.12: And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
Vs.13: I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
Vs.14: But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to
cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
Vs.15: So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
Vs.16: Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Vs.17: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of
the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
4. The Fourth Church
Vs.18: And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These
things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame
of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
Vs.19: I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
Vs.20: Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
Vs.21: And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Vs.22: Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit
adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of
their deeds.
Vs.23: And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Vs.24:But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many
as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Vs.25: But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
Vs.26: And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Vs.27: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels
of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received
of my Father.
Vs.28: And I will give him the morning star.
Vs.29: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Chapter Three
5.
The Fifth Church
Vs.1: And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: 'The words of him who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your works; you have the name of being alive, and you are dead.
Vs.2: Awake, and strengthen what remains and is on the point of
death, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God.
Vs.3: Remember then what you received and heard; keep that, and repent. If you will not awake, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.
Vs.4: Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white,
for they are worthy.
Vs.5: He who conquers shall be clad thus in white garments, and I will not blot his name out of the book of life; I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
Vs.6: He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
6. The Sixth Church
Vs.7: "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: 'The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David,
who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one opens.
Vs.8: "'I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open
door, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
Vs.9: Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie-behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and learn that I have loved you.
Vs.10: Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.
Vs.11: I am coming soon; hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
Vs.12: He who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own
new name.
Vs.13: He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
7. The Seventh Church
Vs.14: "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: 'The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning
of God's creation.
Vs.15: "I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot!
Vs.16: So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I
will spew you out of my mouth.
Vs.17: For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing; not knowing that you are wreched, pitable, poor, blind,
and naked.
Vs.18: Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may be rich, and white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.
Vs.19: Those whom I love, I reprove and chasen; so be zealous and repent.
Vs.20: Behold; I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Vs.21: He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his
throne.
Vs.22: He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
Chapter Four
A:
The Heavenly Worship
Vs.1: After this I looked, and lo, in heaven an open door! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet,
said, "Come up hither, and I will show you what must take place after this."
Vs.2: At once I was in the Spirit, and lo, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne!
Vs.3: And he who sat there appeared like jasper and carnelian, and round the throne was a rainbow that looked like an emerald.
Vs.4: Round the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clad in white garments, with golden crowns upon their heads.
Vs.5: From the throne issued flashes of lightning, and voices and peals of thunder, and before the throne burn seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God;
Vs.6: and before the throne there is as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne,
are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:
Vs.7: the first living creature like a lion, the second living
creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like a flying eagle.
Vs.8: And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all round and within, and day and night they never cease to
sing, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!
Vs.9: And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and
thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives for ever and ever,
Vs.10: the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated
on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever; they
cast their crowns before the throne, singing,
Vs.11: "Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and
honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created."
Chapter Five
B:
Prelude to the Seven Seals: The scroll opened and the Lamb adored
Vs.1: And I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals;
Vs.2: and I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break it's seals?"
Vs.3: And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look upon it,
Vs.4: and I wept much that no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
Vs.5: Then one of the elders said to me, "Weep not; lo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and it's seven seals."
Vs.6: And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders, I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been
slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven
spirits of God sent out into all the earth;
Vs.7: and he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him
who was seated on the throne.
Vs.8: And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints;
Vs.9: and they sang a new song, Saying, "Worthy art thou to take the scroll and to open it's seals, for thou wast slain and by thy blood didst ransom men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
Vs.10: and hast made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and
they shall reign on earth."
Vs.11: Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
Vs.12: saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!"
Vs.13: And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all therein,
saying, "To him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might for ever and ever!"
Vs.14: And the four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped.
Chapter Six
C: The Vision of the Seven Seals
1. The First
Seal: The White Horse
Vs.1: Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard one of the four beast say, as a voice of
thunder, "Come!"
Vs.2: And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and it's rider had a
bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and
to conquer.
2. The Second
Seal: The Red Horse
Vs.3: When he opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say,
"Come!"
Vs.4: And out came another horse, bright red; it's rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that men should slay
one another; and he was given a great sword.
3. The Third
Seal: The Black Horse
Vs.5: When he opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say
,"Come!" And I saw, and behold, a black horse, and it's rider had
a balance in his hand;
Vs.6: and I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the
four beast saying," A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three
quarts of barley for a denarius; but do not harm oil and wine!"
4. The Fourth
Seal: The Pale Horse
Vs.7: When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the
fourth beast say, "Come!"
Vs.8: And I saw, and behold, a pale horse, and it's rider's name
was Death, and Hades followed him; and they were given power over
a fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beast of the earth.
5. The Fifth Seal: The Martyrs
Vs.9: When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the alter the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the
witness they had borne;
Vs.10: they cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy
and true, how long before thou wilt judge and avenge our blood on
those who dwell upon the earth?"
Vs.11: Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a
little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their bretheren should be complete, who were to be killed as they
themselves had been.
6. The Sixth
Seal: Signs In The Heavens
Vs.12: When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there
was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth, the moon became like blood,
Vs.13: and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the tree sheds it's winter fruit when shaken by a gale;
Vs.14: the sky vanished like a scroll that is rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from it's place.
Vs.15: Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the generals and the rich and the strong, and every one, slave and
free, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains,
Vs.16: calling to the mountains and rocks," Fall on us and hide
us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the
wrath of the Lamb;
Vs.17: for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand before it?"
Chapter Seven
Interlude
a. The sealing of God's
servants
Vs.1: After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no
wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.
Vs.2: Then I saw another angel ascend from the rising of the sun,
with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice
to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea
,
Vs.3: saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God upon their foreheads.
"
Vs.4: And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-
four thousand sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel,
Vs.5: twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Judah, twelve
thousand of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand of the tribe of
Gad,
Vs.6: twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand of
the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand of the tribe of Manasseh,
Vs.7: twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand of
the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand of the tribe of Issachar,
Vs.8: twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand
of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand of the tribe of Benjamin.
b. The White-robed Tribulation Saints
Vs.9: After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no
man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples
and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
Vs.10: And crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb!"
Vs.11: And all the angels stood round the throne, and round the
elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
Vs.12: saying," Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanks-
giving and honor and power and might be to our God for ever and
ever! Amen."
Vs.13: Then one of the elders addressed me, saying," Who are these, clothed in white robes, and whence have they come?"
Vs.14: I said to him," Sir, you know." And he said to me," These
are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have
washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Vs.15: Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him
day and night within his temple; and he who sits upon the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
Vs.16: They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.
Vs.17: For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and
God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
