MAURICE is the first Dundonian to make it all the way through the youth ranks and into the first team since Derek Johnstone in the 1970s and he looks like having an equally successful career.
Mo made his debut for the Club in his home-town of Dundee in February 00, it was made even more memorable by the fact that Rangers beat the Dens Park side 7-1.
He then went on to captain the under-21s to the league Championship in season 00/01 but, like Stephen Hughes, was restricted in his first team appearances due to injury. His hard work paid off, however, and he was promoted full-time to Dick Advocaat’s squad in the summer.
His no-nonsense defending has made him a favourite with the fans and he’s sure to be a hit for both Club and country over the next few years.
Super Mo played a blinder in last season's Scottish Cup Final and is now a regular at right-back now that Fernando Ricksen is playing in midfield. Ross is also a key member of Berti
Vogts' Scotland squad and has shown maturity beyond his years.
Maurice recently signed a new long-term deal at Ibrox and could well be a mainstay of the side for years to come. He also bagged his first goal for the club at Livingston in September.
