Craig Moore came to Scotland at 17 and has matured at Rangers from a raw new talent to an experienced and key member of the side.

He broke into the side in 1993 and filled a variety of positions up until 1999 without commanding a regular place in the team.

That was the Australian's main reason for heading down to London to join Crystal Palace as he had become disillusioned with a lack of first-team action at Ibrox.

However, Palace's much-publicised financial troubles escalated during Moore's spell down south, and they were unable to pay Rangers the balance of the agreed fee, so the player returned to Ibrox.

Dick Advocaat quickly made it clear that Moore was his first choice to partner Lorenzo Amoruso for the start of the 1999-2000 season and presented him with the number 3 shirt.

Despite some shaky early performances, Moore steadied his game and has shown why Advocaat has such faith in him. His performances in both the League and the Champions League won him rave reviews from fans and pundits alike.

Season 2000-01 was a nightmare for Moore as he sat out until March due to a knee injury sustained a year previous.

But 2001-02 has seen him return to the side and display his usual repertoire of tough-tackling and reliability.
