Week of July 30,2001 -The Dolphins held scrimmage Sunday.Autry Denson was great,as was Travis Minor,the rookie.Both had 1 TD(more about scrimmage at the News page).Hopefully these two guys make the roster.Personally,I’m praying for 4 RB’s: Lamar Smith,J.J.Johnson,Denson,& Minor.Johnson is said to be improving,and the Dolphins have been using him as a 3rd down back.He was my favorite offensive player from 1999.I hope the best for him. -Scott Galyon returned to practice with no pain.That’s good news,considering his success last year before he got hurt.Galyon has a great motor.I would like to see more from him.Speaking of LB’s,a CAT scan confirmed Tuesday that rookie Morlon Greenwood doesn’t have any bones broken,but is still out about 1–2 weeks.He will miss the first exhibition game in Canton,Ohio against the Rams. -The Dolphins waived
cornerback Jeff Harris,and signed tackle Otis Pitts.Receiver Ronnie Anderson left
the team for personal reasons.They then signed receiver LaVell Boyd. -LT Brent
Smith,who was supposed to replace T Richmond Webb(Bengals),was lost for the
year with a torn ACL.Sad,sad,sad…but I feel that Marcus Spriggs can vill the
void at LT,for sure.They also signed offensive tackle Spencer Folau when they
placed Smith on IR. |
