THERE HAS BEEN A RESOLUTION OF SORTS TO
THE TOILET PAPER SHORTAGE IN FLORIDA PRISONS.

"Oh, Kay Lee, after you and your friends sent the toilet paper to Tallahassee, the prison - well at least I can speak for New River - They changed their toilet paper policy of 1 roll per week to "as needed", so basically, we can get a roll whenever, like it used to be.  So I have to believe that whatever you did, IT WORKED! Thank you! from all of us in prison!"
From a Prisoner at New River CI

Mr. Moore.
I want to thank you for your prompt reaction to Operation Wipe-Out about the toilet paper shortage in Florida prisons.  Isn't it wonderful what we can accomplish when we work together?

Even though you never admitted that it was happening, you still graciously sent out memos to the regional directors, who distributed them to the prisons, which, from the reports coming in, has helped a great deal.  That was an especially nice touch when you told them, "BORROW SOME FROM HOME IF YOU HAVE TO, BUT I NEVER WANT TO HEAR ABOUT A TP SHORTAGE IN FLORIDA PRISONS AGAIN!" Me either!

The public is still asking how much toilet paper you actually received and they want your assurance that it was given to the prisoners.

And gosh, I hate to bring it up at a time like this, but many people want to know if we have to do an "Operation Clean-Up" to get soap for the prisoners or if you will take care of making sure Florida prisoners get all the basic necessities.

You can see the responses to your efforts at the MTWT website https://www.angelfire.com/fl4/fci/toiletpapersolution.html

Keep an eye on those guards now,
Kay Lee

I've been told that others are doing without in the following places:

Tomoka, Hamilton, Hardee, Wakulla, Union, FSP, New River East & West, Avon Park, Sumter, Arcadia, Cross City, Columbia, & Gulf.   ~Cynthia~

Although the DOC continues to deny the shortages of basic necessities exist...

Secretary Moore, Thank you for your response.

I'm glad all of the toilet paper that was sent to the prisoners came in good use for them. So you state D.O.C. no longer has a shortage. There are still plenty of rolls on the way, just in case the prisoners need a roll next week also.

When or if they run out again, please feel free to contact me, and I will see that the state gets restocked again by all of us concerned citizens.

Thank you for caring. Pamela Adams

...Michael Moore's office did make an effort (or a gesture) towards rectifying  the toilet paper situation: Only time will tell if it was sincere.

We had a memo sent from our Regional 3 director last week about the TP thing. All prisions in my region recieved this memo, we have 4 other regions tho, so I'm not sure about them, we are region 3 - Central Florida: Sumter, z-hills, Hillsborough, Hernando, ect... recieved it. People thought it was a joke. No one at work knew that someone was making the TP thing an issue. except me.

A MEMO CAME OUT FROM OUR REGIONAL DIRECTOR TODAY IN REGARDS TO THE "TP ISSUE".  IT STATES THAT THEIR IS NO TP SHORTAGE AND THAT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE, HE IS AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY PURCHASES OF TP IF THERE IS EVER A PROBLEM, AND TO QUOTE HIM "BORROW SOME FROM HOME IF YOU HAVE TO, BUT I NEVER WANT TO HEAR ABOUT A TP SHORTAGE IN FLORIDA PRISONS AGAIN!"

Isnt that a riot? Looks like Kaylee accomplished something once again.

Subject: The toilet paper is arriving at the prisons, at least it has at New River West
Region 11:

Hi Kay
I just talked to my friend who's son is at New River West. She said when she visited him today he told her they now have plenty of toilet paper and personal hygiene products. Yes, we did make them take note and listen. But I'm sure it was Jeb not Michael Moore.

Yesterday I did send an e-mail to Jeb thanking him for the toilet paper, but told him he still hasn't taken care of the real problem with the DOC and that is Michael Moore. Also I read where Noelle his daughter isn't wanting to complete her sentenced rehab. I told him to go into Angelfire and let her read some letters from inmates and she'll see why she doesn't want to end up in Florida's Correctional System. And that they wouldn't care that her father was Governor or that her uncle was President, she'd be treated worse because of that and it wouldn't be by other inmates but correctional officers. So I'm praying he'll wake up and smell the roses. Well, I'll talk to you later.          Janice

KayLee... Just wanted to share this bit of info. After reading this message from you, I asked my Son at Washington CI [Region 1] if they were giving him enough toilet paper. He laughed and said "It's funny that you would ask, 'cause it just changed on Friday".

...Then he asked why I wanted to know, and I told him about your message. He laughed so hard and said to make sure and thank you and to tell you how grateful he is that there are compassionate people like you looking out for everyone on the inside.

As a Mother, I also want to say thank you.  Keep up the fight 'cause you truly are a Godsend!!

Hi KayLee,

Went to visit my brother at new river....  great news!

The word is,,,, thanks to you. A new memo has come out and the toiletries are now on a "as needed" basis, (thought thats the way it has always been supposed to be).

But... Way to go!!!

Here is something that you may want to investigate,, seems the chow hall has hired a new company to supply food, well, is it true that Jeb's wife has stock in the food company? I have to get the name again [Aramark] but they say that Smaller portions are now being given, humm, just something all the time isn't it?

He was in good spirits but had lost weight, they are working him as they do all inmates. I told him you care and will work until they fix things. Thank You for all your hard works.

Michele

And I received one phone call from a happy lady who told me she had been visiting at Union CI [Region 11] this past weekend.  She stated that the bathroom in the visitor's park was usually without toilet paper, but that this time it had toilet paper, paper towels, soap, everything a bathroom is supposed to have.  Thank you, Michael Moore.  Kay Lee
