Hi, and blessings to you for visiting my site, a dedication to the Lordship, Divinity, and Sonship of Jesus Christ!

This section of my website will be used to deliver news to you on a daily basis.  This news will be relevant to any ecclesiastical events happening in this country or around the world.  If you find any inaccuracies or have any general comments about these events, please feel free to e-mail by clicking on the "e-mail" button on the left or leaving it in my guest book!

I do want to take this opportunity to thank a very brave and kind young man who has been the closest friend to me since I have met him, Steve.  I will not go into details but will say that Steve is a very close friend and a man of God.  He has been such an inspiration to me and also has shown me not to give up on the ministry that the Lord has set forth for me.  Steve, I love you, and I pray that the Lord will forever bless you and guide your footsteps!

The news begins today in the small Dutch town of Volendam, where funerals for the New Year's café fire victims were held this week. In addition to the ten deaths, more than 180 other teens were burned, several critically. The International Bible Society's Geert Oosterhuis says the town of about 20-thousand is in shock. "The people involved would all be below the age of 20. Many of them would be below the age of 15, and the two youngest victims were only 13 years old who have died. And so, people will come back from the hospital after one or two years and they will have scars for life." Oosterhuis says because the impact of the tragedy was so strong, IBS found a way to help. "We had this little booklet in English, and so we had it translated, published and printed and delivered within four days to the schools, to some churches there to hand out to all the victims, and their relatives that have been affected by this disaster. The people are still not really grasping what has happened. This booklet is the only suitable spiritual help available to them."

And, we told you earlier about Walk Thru The Bible's newest launch to help African pastors deal with the AIDS pandemic in their churches. Now, we bring the follow-up from a missions group that wants to put feet to their words. Grace Ministries International's Sam Vinton says Bruce Wilkerson of Walk Thru the Bible will be in Zambia next week. "I've gotten hold of our missionaries and some of our national pastors to attend the meetings and see what we can do as far as getting materials from him. I know the African pastors have a difficult time dealing with this in church-so, to me, this is a real answer to prayer." Vinton adds: "People are going to be able to relate and apply what he has to say because that's the whole mode; the way he teaches and so I'm excited to see that the materials will be available...to see how he's going to put it together for us to be able to use this and teach in our churches."

Greetings to all.  I want to take the time to thank all who have come to this site and have left comments about them.  I thank you.

On a personal note, please pray for me as I have to go to the doctor's (again) for a lump on my throat.  Pray that no matter what comes to pass, the Lord will be glorified!

Headlining today's news, North Koreans face another year of severe food shortages after dry weather harmed maize and paddy production. World Relief's Vice President of International Ministries Arnie Bergstrom says this situation isn't good in this country closed to the Gospel. "With this concern over the shortage of the harvest North Korea will be in a famine situation within the next few weeks and months. When the harvest has not been successful we know that's going to have a significant impact on the nation, with a large number of people facing starvation." World Relief will be helping. Bergstrom says, as Christians, they have an obligation. "It's an opportunity for us to demonstrate, in very practical terms, the Good New of the Gospel - through the cup of cold water, through the food that is given. But, then hopefully there will be in the long run the opportunity to share explicitly the Good News of the Gospel." Since 1995, two million North Koreas have died as a result of famine.

Next, an angry mob of Hindu fundamentalists stormed a prayer meeting in Rajasthan, India, taking two church leaders hostage. David Masih and Simon Sakria were attacked January 4th by about 40 to 50 people. Masih has since been released, suffering from some broken bones, however, the whereabouts of Sakria is unknown. Christian Solidarity Worldwide is asking people to pray that the Indian government will take immediate action to find him. Hindu extremists are upset with the growing number of people converting to Christianity in that Hindu country.

And finally, there's a new web site to help people looking for short term missionary opportunities. According to Brigada Today, Mission Data International recently launched ShortTermMissions-dot-com. The web site features a fully searchable database of short term mission opportunities. It provides detailed descriptions and requirements for opportunities with many mission organizations. ShortTermMissions-dot-com also includes in-depth mission agency information, articles and discussion forums.
