The Dating Game
The way that people meet today
Just can not be the only way
We play games with one another
And never really know each other
You like some one, you want so much
To have someone, to feel the touch
Of another heart that beats the same
That you make believe, you play the game
Of being what you think you see
The other one wants you to be
We should not make this mistake
Love should be real and never fake
You wind up offering your heart
To someone who's not there from the start
Then one day the relationship ends
When you realize you're not even friends
You notice how you've grown apart
And how you never shared one heart
It never can be quite the same
It doesn't pay to play that game

Lonely People *
Lonely people sit and stare
And hope they see real people there
In the words that scroll across their screen
They hope that they can read between
The lines and find somebody who
Possibly is lonely too.
Someone who'll come into their life
As a lover , a husband, or a wife
Or maybe just a new found friend
Someone who'll help to bring an end
To the emptiness they feel inside
The sorrow that they try to hide
They try to find it all through text
They even might try cyber sex
They chat, join clubs, go play a game
But usually it's still the same
'Cause when they finally shut things down
They see that there's no one around
It's still the same , they're still alone
With no one they can call their own
