Web Page Add Ons

Well it's Fantastic to see y'all have made it here:-) This tells me you have succeeded in creating an Account with Angelfire, downloading and installing Fpexpress and created your first HTML file using FPExpress :-) Now let's add some goodies to your web page :-)

Preparations:

1. Create a folder on your C: drive and name it, "All Scripts":

1. Right click "Start"---> go to Explore---> Go to C:

2. File---> New--->Folder---> renmae the new folder, "All Scripts".

2. Click on the " scripts" hyperlink to download the zip file and unzip the scripts to, "C:\All Scripts"

3. Save a Music Wav file to your folder, "C:\Angelfire"

1. Open FPExpress---> Go to File---> Open---> Browse to C:\Angelfire -----> Click on "index.html" so we can add some goodies to your main web page

2. Adding Color borders and Color bar - Now let's add a color scrollbar so we can perty this up a bit :-)

1.Right click on Start--->Go to Explore--Scroll to C:\All Scripts---->double click on the text file,
" colorborder_scrollbar "   to open it.

2.  You can change the Border Color code and the width of the border (10 px ) while you have the text file open for the script. Here is where you make the changes 

Once you have the changes, go to "Edit--->Select All----> Edit--->Copy...  (close this text file and answer "NO" to save the changes)

Go back to your FPExpress where you have your index.html file opened. make sure you are at the top of the page by using Ctrl + Home key on the keyboard. Go to "Insert"---> HTML Marlup ---> Paste the Colorborder script in the opened box and click "OK" Here is what I have after I changed the colors:

If done successfully, you will see a yellowbackground with <?> at the beginning of the web page:-)

3. Let's add a Music WAV file - The easiest way I have found to add da wav to your web page while in FrontPage Express is to have your main web page minimized in da taskbar so you can copy the URL and paste it in FrontPage Express.

1. Make sure you are at the end of the web page by using the keys, Ctrl + End

2. Go to Insert-->Background Sound ---->Select, "From Location"---> paste the URL for your mail web page and add the name of your wav with the extension .wav

You won't hear the sound wave until you upload the index.html file and the wav file to Angelfire

5. Adding your Ticker message - To add a ticker message that scolls on the bottom of your web page, go to C:\All Scripts and double click on the file, " ticker" to open the text file. Go to "Edit"---> Select all----> Edit---> Copy. Close the script.

Place your Cursor at the end of your index.html File by using the keys, Ctrl + End". Go to "Insert--->HTML Markup. Right click and Paste the script in the box. You will see a yellow square with <?>

6. File---> Save
