Vadwar, a tall elfen warrior, wandered the shores of the magical lake Doshenyu with his cloud-white unicorn, Bjarki, for many years. His strength had left him alongside his youth. Yet, through the loss of years, the scars left by the many beasts, the tears, the blood, and all of it, he continued his quest. According to the legends, which most considered foolish, the shore would lead to a forest. This forest, one entered, could not be exited, but he who had entered would be given eternal life and youth.
He did not care about exiting. He had everything that he needed in the world, his unicorn, all of the many beasts of the forest, and his sword. Vadwar hated the outside world anyway, and it seemed to hate him.
In Penshil, he had been persecuted for being an elf. In Dolmin, he had been persecuted for being a warrior. In Shindom, he had been persecuted for believing in the Forest. Everywhere he had visited, he had been persecuted for some reason or another, just like many others who lived in his cruel world.
Suddenly, Bjarki jumped away from the water, knocking Vadwar to the ground and stepping on his right hand. Vadwar screamed in pain and grasped his broken, bloodied hand. Bjarki, very intelligent for a unicorn, realized quickly after regathering his senses what he had done and bent down to lick Vadwar's hand. The saliva of a unicorn was used as a painkiller because of its soothing abilities. A shadow rose over them from out of the water. Vadwar stumbled backwards as he tried to get up to run and found that his knee was also broken. As he looked out into the water, he saw a small, woman-like figure approach.- This part written by: Dave
As it came closer, he found that it was a mermaid. She was beautiful, the most stunning sight Vadwar had ever seen. The woman was very youthful and had long blond hair that sparkled as the sun touched it. She was naked but showed no shame. Her lips were carved into a beautiful smile. Her teeth were as white as the pearls that hung laced together around her neck. As she slowly came closer to Vadwar, the fish-like scales from the waist down transformed into a long, beautiful legs which were perfectly matech with her body. The gods had blessed her, Vadwar was sure. She came close and laid her hand gently over the torn limb that used to be Vadwar's hand.
Vadwar turned his head away from her and shut his eyes. "What is of matter?" She asked of him. Her voice was like the song of an angel.
Vadwar swallowed hard, "You are nude, my lady." She smiled and squeezed his hand tight. Vadwar winced in pain, then it stopped. He turned back to see that his hand was restored and she was now wearing loose silk garmets, as the aristocratic young females of Dolmin did. Vadwar fell backwards, startled.
She giggled and offered him a hand of help to get up, "What is of matter now, clumsy one? You do not like my robings?"
He took her hand and stood up on now quite sturdy legs. He then brushed the dust off of himself and said, stuttering, "No. I do...like them but why them?"
"I read it from your mind. You found these attractive on the Dolminian women." She said, stroking Bjarki's head. "You are searching for the Eternal Forest, clumsy one?"
"Yes, my lady." He hoped that she had not read what he was thinking of her.
"I know where it is. And my name is Jinesill." She gave him another of the beautiful smiles that Vadwar had already fallen in love with.
"Please lead me there. And my name is Vadwar. My unicorn's name is Bjarki."
"I shall lead you. And I shall call you clumsy one." She pressed her finger to the tip of his nose and wriggled it as if he were but a small child, but she had to reach up to touch his nose, he being so very tall.
The two of them climbed atop Bjarki and rode off to find the Eternal Forest...- This part written by: Dave
