A Breif Look at my career as a Bassist: In mid June 2001 I started looking for a bass guitar I could afford, and beleive me, I couldn't afford much. I bought a basic Rogue SX100B from MusiciansFriend.com and played it for 3 months. I decided to move on to a better instrument as my interests in bass continued.
I got a Squier Deluxe P-Bass in 3-Tone Sunburst sometime in September and soon after started taking lessons at Stevie B's Total Guitar (props to Chris Santucci for the kickass lessons, rock on)
December of 2001 (actually, Christmas) brought with it a new amp, and I have 2 of them now; a Peavey Basic 112 and a Peavey Microbass (mostly for travel or when im too lazy to lug around the big 112)
Anyway, in early April 2002 I got the newest bass in my flock, a Black Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass. I got rid of the Rogue when I got my amp, but I still have the Squier (I kept it so that I would have a passive bass, should I ever need one)
So there are pictures and information below, for more pictures of me and my rig try the band page.

Delivers 30W of beautiful bass through a high-performance 10” speaker. Comes equipped with an EQ section that's switchable between 3 tone controls and 4-band graphic EQ, giving you more tonal flexibility than you’ll find in any bass amp in this price range. Also features high and low inputs; controls for high boost (foot switchable on/off), volume and presence; a line out; headphone jack; and effects loop.

CURRENT RIG
When I decided to start getting serious about bass playing I knew two things. First, I wanted to take lessons to speed up my playing skills, and second, I NEEDED A NEW (AND BETTER) BASS.
I did some shopping around and found a great bass for a low price. The Squier P-Bass Special Edition.
A great fusion of Fender's lighter P-Bass body and slimmer J-Bass neck, not only that, but it features one P-Bass pickup at mid-range, and one J-Bass pickup at the bridge position. Below are some pictures.

But what good is an electric bass without an AMP? Well, again I found a great deal on an awesome piece of equipment. The Peavey 112 Basic.

What else is there to say about this amp? It's got a 4-way EQ, pre outs, power amp ins, and it rocks the walls pounding out 80 watts.
For my latest purchase of a bass, price wasn't an issue. I was moving on and getting really serious about the craft; I'm the bassist in the PHUHS jazz band next year, and the band is coming along steadily
So a trip to Sam Ash late one Monday night led me to pick up a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz bass, and i liked the sound. The neck felt like my old one, and i liked the balance of the body. I got it new for $540, which i didnt think was too bad a deal (i was originally looking for a Fender Hot Rodded P-Bass, which goes for a little over $1000). Anyway, pics below.
