Kyra opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for a few seconds before remembering what had happened and where she was.
"So Backstreet Boy is *my* brother... I never woulda guessed..."
She slowly climbed from the queen sized bed and looked around the guest room.
"I guess this will be my room now."
She walked across the room to where her backpack was lying on the ground, and pulled a black spagetti strap shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans out.
After getting dressed, she ran her fingers through her hair and decided to see where Brian was.
She walked down the hall to her left and turned a corner. Rooms, rooms, more rooms.
She frowned and turned back, but she couldn't remember which hall she had come from.
"Oh come on, it can't be that big!"
She picked the hall in front of her and continued walking until she reached a door at the end of the hallway.
"Well fuck, I guess it *is* that big."
Kyra leaned against the wall and yelled at the top of her lungs.
"BRRRRIIIAAAANNNN!"
She waited a few seconds before she heard footsteps running in her direction.
Brian came around the corner and looked at her with huge eyes, leaning over with his hands on his knees, out of breath.
Kyra looked at him. "I'm lost."
Brian grinned and shook his head, still breathing heavily. "You... scared me. How did you... get here anyway?"
She shrugged. "I'm not sure, but you can get me outta here now."
He nodded and turned to leave. Kyra hurried to catch up with him.
"So where are all your other backstreet buddies?" she asked him while they walked down the stairs.
Brian glanced back at her. "I didn't know you knew who I was."
Kyra rolled her eyes. "You guys are just like the biggest band on the entire earth."
Brian reached the bottom of the steps and grinned at her. "Ya think so?"
Kyra sighed and shoved his shoulders. "Keep walking monkey."
Brian laughed and led her to the kitchen, where she sat on one of the stools at the island in the middle of the room.
She yawned. "Your house is really big."
Brian smiled. "Are you hungry?"
Kyra narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't go thinking that just because you're my brother you can do shit for me."
Brian's eyes widened. "I was only asking..."
Kyra smiled. "I know."
She hopped down and opened his fridge.
Brian shook his head. She was a strange kid.
He leaned against the counter. "So, you're 16 now?"
She emerged with a tangerine. "Yep. What's this?"
"A tangerine."
Kyra studied it in her hands. "It's like an orange?"
"Uhhh... kinda. It's a little sweeter, but it's basically the same thing."
Kyra wrinkled her nose. "Yuck." She put it back in the fridge and searched for something else.
"Do you have any normal food?" she asked him.
"Well, we just got back from a promo tour, and we're getting ready to do the regular tour, so I don't have much here."
Kyra stepped out from the fridge. "Does that mean I have to go on tour with five guys?"
Brian frowned. "Umm... I guess you don't *have* to... We could find something else for..."
"I was just kidding. I wanna come." Kyra interupted him.
Brian smiled. This was the first time she had acted like she was happy here. "Cool. We'll have fun."
She nodded and turned back to the fridge. "I give up. You need to go shopping really bad monkey."
Brian grinned at her and hit her lightly in the stomach. "Why am I a monkey? Huh?"
But he stopped when Kyra bent over in pain.
"Oh my god, are you ok?"
She stood back up with a small smile. "Yep."
Brian sighed with relief. "Don't do that."
She giggled. "You believed me?"
Kyra laughed out loud as he nodded. She reached over and punched his stomach. "Stooopid monkey."
