Well, I guess the only way to
kick this thing off is to start at the
beginning. So, first there was Adam...
just kidding! My parents met while my
dad was attending The Citadel in South
Carolina. They courted for a while and
decided to marry. After graduating my
dad joined the Army and while stationed
at Ft. Rucker, Alabama my sister was
born. Soon after they moved to Ft.
Knox, KY I decided it was time for me to
make my entrance. I was a little over
eight pounds and my mom says I was
giving the doctor a piece of my mind
before he even had me out. Some things
never change.
I had a very happy childhood and
enjoyed being an “Army Brat”. We were
stationed mostly in the south-eastern
portion of the States but we did get the
chance to go to Germany. I was very
young and only remember a small part of
our stay there. I recall being heart
broken when I brought a snowglobe for
“show-n-tell” and it shattered before my
very eyes. That was my first traumatic
experience, not including my birth, of
course!
After twenty years in the
service my dad was retiring. We
relocated to Ft. Myers, Fl exactly one
week before my thirteenth birthday. The
transition to civilian life was more
difficult than I had anticipated. I made
friends along the way; some good, some
not so good. At the ripe old age of
sixteen I made a bad choice for a boyfriend. In order to escape the whole scenario my family and I agreed that I would move to
Houston and live with my aunt and uncle.
I was lacking a few credits to graduate
high school and it takes less in Texas.
So off I went!
One short year later I was
graduated and convincing my divorced dad
to move to San Antonio with me. He
agreed. After a few months there I decided that this was not the
place for me. So I packed my bags and
headed back to Houston. My cousin had
just had a baby and was leary about
placing him in daycare. I really enjoyed caring for Brenden but I had no
life to speak of and was headed nowhere
fast.
I missed my mom and sister and wanted to be back in Ft. Myers. I started at the
bottom of the retail ladder and worked
my way up to a manager’s position. The
challenge disappeared quickly and the
high turn-over of personnel was getting
to me but I stuck it out for a while at Claire's. My best friend, Lisa, managed another Claire's and we would match our schedules to have the same days off. She happened to know a fellow that joined the Marines some time before and when she got back in touch with him they realized they couldn't wait to see each other.
A couple problems presented themselves. He was in North Carolina. She, in Florida. He didn't have reliable transportation. (Enter Phil) She did, but didn't want to travel alone to meet two Marines. (Enter Christy. And don't think I didn't jump at the chance to meet a young, eligable Marine!) Thus, was the beginning of a beautiful relationship! You can read more about that on the love story page.
Well, I sure hope I didn’t bore you with my life story. If I did then you probably already left this page so you can’t read this but if you’re still here and bored then LEAVE!!!!!!! And if by chance anyone enjoyed this wellllll.... thanks for listening! I sincerely hope that you have a blissful day!!
