The concept for this image started as a sketch for an envelope.
An envelope for a package I was sending my then-girlfriend, Linda.
I kinda got carried away and made a full color drawing on the envelope.
I liked the image so much I went home and drew it.
Then I scanned it and made this digital image.
I've always thought it would make a great tattoo.

At one point I tried to recreate it for Linda as a henna tattoo.
You know those things that say "test on an inconspicuous area first"?
Linda ended up with a phoenix shaped rash.
