i open my eyes up lately and there you are/it doesn't take a rockit scientist to figure out/ that this is everything you ever dreamed about - Rockit Scientist by Stephen Ziel

My name is Kari Gorski from Milwaukee, WI and I think if you like MB20 you'll definetly like "my boys" Pet Engine. We are friends with The Gufs, who are like brothers with MB20 and they all play about the same style.

 [l a t e s t-a l b u m]: Feeling Like a Hundred Bucks
 ----
 [b i o g r a p h y]: Where does Pet Engine fit in today's madcap music world?

Pet Engine is a pop band. Lead singer, guitarist and chief songwriter Steve Ziel used to front the melody rockin' Milwaukee combo Blackfish. When Blackfish decided to shift direction and change names, Ziel and comrade/bassist Clem Blanding brought on the talents of Al Hildenbrand (former guitarist/singer of Milwaukee's Happytown) and brand spanking new drum spanker, Micah Havertape. In early 1996, they released the critically acclaimed and fine selling CD ep, Musicalbum. One song from Musicalbum, "Place to Breath," garnered heavy Milwaukee radio airplay for the first three months of '96.
This success prompted a return to the studio for work on the brand new release, Feeling Like a Hundred Bucks. Of the eleven songs on Feeling Like a Hundred Bucks, eight were recorded at the famed and fabled Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin. The 11 songs are: Window, Reinventing the Wheel, Gone, O.K., Real You, Strapped, Tenderhooks, SPF, Already Cool, Diary of a Breakup and Pretty Tough.

[Keep This Hat of Broken Dreams]
===============================
D r e a m s
-----------------

This dream was so weird. I was in my mom's living room and the Letterman show
was filmed there. Matchbox 20 was about to perform and I was sitting on the coffee table wand the band was set up all around me. They were playing 'Long Day' and during the bridge Rob turned around and was smiling at me. Now here's the REALLY weird part. I said, "Here, try my pudding," and Rob ate some(mind you the song is still going on) and said that it was the best pudding he had ever tasted. Then I woke up(sigh).
It was such a good dream too.
Thanks,

[Don't it Make You Wanna Think Damn]
===============================
W h a t e v e r

I have an opinion and it's a pretty damn rude one @ that. I think matchbox 20 should be more involved with and more accessible to the fans. It seems as they have gained more fame they become less accessible (i.e.: bodyguards). The fans have helped them get where they are-I just hope they know and remember that.

I think that there are three reasons why I love mb20 so much.
1) I'm in love with Rob
2) I love Rob's voice
3) I love the lyrics to the songs
That's all I can think of really.

My sister, Nancy and and I were waiting in the lobby for a matchbox 20 to begin, and I noticed that alot of people were looking at us. I thought I had a dirt spot on my clothes, but they thought we were guys! I don't consider it a blessing to have short brown hair when girls stare at you and call you "cute"!
I also noticed that there was a wide range of fans there. It was really weird standing next to a biker chick, all decked out in leather! There weren't many black people there because the show was on the same day as "Smokin' Grooves". But this little black girl was waiting for her mom and she waved at me. I thought that was cool.
Nancy never considered me a softy but when I heard "Kody", I sat down to reflect on the true meaning of the song. The first time I heard that song on their record, I cried. It's a very sad and lonely song. The next time we go to one of their concerts, I got to remind myself not to wear my cowboy hat. Then maybe, folks won't be confused and call me a "Rob wanna-be".

You've probably had a stack of people already e-mail you in regards to this, but on the 1st of May, Matchbox 20's Australian Concert will be aired on Pay-Per-View in America.. I have something to say about that too- that really sux- what about the
MB20 fans in other countries? I mean, for god's sake, the concert was FILMED in Australia, and WE don't even get to SEE it!! I am not a happy chappy!

Story-
One night, at 3a.m, I was walking down the street with my friends Rob and Kody. We ran into or friends Adam, Kyle, Paul, and Brian. Rob said, "Damn," because Adam's girlfriend Caroline was with them and he always wanted a Girl Like That. Anyway, I was in need of getting home quickly because I was way past my curfew and I was gonna get Busted. Kyle knew this and started to Push me down the sidewalk quickly in the direction of my house. I got home about ten minutes later and I had to Hang my head in Shame as my mom chewed me out. I knew I'd better not Argue with her because I knew that she was Tired and had had a Long Day in the Real World. I had to get Back to her Good side so that I could go Swing and get Dizzy with my friends from Matchbox 20. She said, "Dear Joan, I'm not going to scream to night or anymore, but you can't
be this Unkind to me anymore." Just then my little brother Kelly Thomas (K.T. for short) ran in with a piece of sheet music on fire. I yelled, "I already told you! Don't play with matches!" He said, "Here comes Horses! I'm leading them with this." Well, he dropped the torch as the horses stampeded through the house and the whole thing burned down. It was Forever until December when the new house was built and it seemed to scream, "Paint Me Blue!" So we did, and the paint gave me a funky High with the mixture of that and the yellow sun. I am telling this story because if Yourself or Someone like you ever stays out until 3a.m, you better hope that Jesus Wasn't An Alien because lord have mercy on your house!

['Music and My Soul']

I believe music has the ability to touch our souls. To make us think and feel. Matchbox 20 was the band to do that for me.
Push was the first matchbox 20 song I heard on the radio in May of 1997. Minutes later I called the radio station to find out the band and CD name. I bought the CD the next day and I loved it-I still do. Since then, I listen to the CD about once every other day. I've bought roughly 15 copies for my close friends. I often discuss with them how the lyrics and the music have touched me.
Every time I play Yourself or Someone Like You, I "hear" something different and new as if listening for the first time. I hope it's the same for all mb20 fans. Each song has the ability to transport me-to a time, a memory, a feeling. I love that about matchbox 20. Their music is magical to me.
Hard work has gained the band a large group of fans. I hope all of you are as deeply affected as I am by the music they make.
What do the songs from YOSLY make you feel? Do you listen to the CD as often as when you first bought it?

For this Issue we have two, yes two, webpage of the issues. This is due to the over abundance of great sites on mb20.

title: Matchstick Heaven
rating: ***** 5 stars(on a 1-5 scale-5 being the best)
URL: http://come.to/MatchstickHeaven
designers: Joe and Kristin

Matchstick Heaven was fun to explore. It is well maintained and updated often. The pictures section is good-especially the exclusive pics. I enjoyed the profiles section which has information on each member of mb20. The Adam Gaynor tribute is awesome. Joe has met Adam and I'm going to assume he made a big impression. They also have over 100 links to other matchbox 20 sites-make sure you check them out. The audio
section is pretty complete with songs like: Can't Always Get What You Want, Heavy and Rest Stop. My favorite section on this page is the Greeting Cards. You can send an email greeting card, with a picture of mb20 or Rob, to anyone-I loved it. Check this page out- it's worth your time.

title: Planet Matchbox
url: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Pit/8429/
rating: **** = 4 stars( on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being excellent)
Designer: Meg

I liked visiting this site. It too has the matchbox 20 postcards I so much enjoy. It also has a Tabitha's Secret section which includes a bio, lyrics and news. Soon this site will have full length MP3's- so make sure to keep checking. My favorite part of this site was the mailing list with options for being on a discussion list, a compiled daily email, or a message board. The site also has it's own chat. Great way to meet fellow fans. Make sure to check it out!!!!
