Hemp is a name used for industial grade cannabis and generally has little to no THC, the chemical reposible for getting you "high". So even if you don't beleive the drug "Marijuana" should be legalized there is no reason hemp should not.

Hemp is one of the most usefull natraul fibers known to man. It can be used to make paper, cloth, rope, particle board, food, and enumerable other things. Not only can it be made into these things, in most cases hemp works better than the traditional materials it replaces. For instance hemp paper lasts practically forever because it isn't processed with the acids which lead to yellowing and degading in normal paper. If you look back to America's early history (though no history class bothers to mention it) one of our main crops was hemp and as late as late as 1943 we grew hemp for use in WWII.
